BiffbarfSome days I low key feel like falling asleep on the lift because it's so quiet and peaceful, I put the bar down so I don't die if I pass out lmao
Freshman year of college I was super tired one day and I fell asleep on the lift and if my homies hadn’t put the bar down I would’ve fallen off and broken my shit for sure
I'm tall with the helmet on someone yanking the bar down always hits it. No helmet and I might avoid the bar.
Today actually reminded me why I don't like helmets. I got a work call and tried to answer and my airpods didn't talk right. I had to answer other ones and go to speaker and if its windy people will know your outside.
By the end of the day it kinda got heavy and hurt my neck too.
I'm trying to wear the helmet at all times unless its 45 degrees or higher and sunny in which case I'm getting my tan on. But I really prefer to just wear a hat.

i think you need some coffee or a redbull before/while you ski lol

Idk what it is but the sound of whirring machinery while being cozy in my gear just knocks me tf out. Ski lifts are the ultimate white noise machines especially on nice days. I also don't sleep much before ski days because I'm a night owl so that prob has a lot to do with it too

OOo yep, especially on days where there's a little rain tapping on your helmet. And you can sorta barely hear people having fun in the background and the sounds of skis sliding.
SuspiciousFishI remember once we got stuck on Snow Ghost for 45 min about halfway between midway and the top. It was pure white out conditions with snow blowing sideways and the chair rocking back and forth. I remember my buddy and I just kept dead silent with our heads down and one hand on the pole and the snow piling up in our laps just waiting for the wheel to turn again.
Im a bar down guy. grew up skiing with the bar down. and i like it lets you rest on it and stare down at the ground. you can goof of if you want to and not worry that much about dying. and towards the end of the day i get tired and like to rest on the chair.
you always have to be first to put the bar down or else jerry and his kid named william will come and slam the bar down on you and wont lift it up until the chair is going back down the mountain.
Falling asleep on the ski lift scares the shit out of me. There are no bars at my home hill. When I get really tired (and stoned) I start nodding off on the lift alot and I know it's time to go home

Dude Jerry and his boy william ALWAYS put the bar down, wacking my helmet in the process, then forget to put the bar up until I have to put it up when we’re unloading after the 2 minute lift ride.
I like to drastically increase my chances of early death by never wearing a helmet. Never putting my bar down. Not wearing a seat belt. Anything recommended to me for safety insults my sense of freedom. Fuck the establishment. #mybodymychoice

jompcockI've seen so many lifties swing the bar down for kids getting on the lift like they can't do it themselves. I've also seen kids get smacked by the bar from that.
When I was a really little kid, 5 or 6, I couldn't reach the bar and was terrified of the chair. So when I was riding alone I'd be reaching at it and about to fall off casue I didn't know how to do it. Liftys putting the bar down for kids is smart unless their tall enough

I suppose but I would just grab the bar from the side before I was tall enough to reach it
