Ski sizing help

i’m looking at getting a pair of arv 96 for park/all mountain but i’m not sure what size i should get, i’m 5’8 135 lbs. i’m leaning towards 177 instead of 170 because i’m a more advanced skier, but i’m looking to get more into park this season so i’m wondering if a shorter length would be more fun/easier to learn on.

I know this is absolute blasphemy on ns but I prefer short skis myself. That being said for an advanced skier the 177 would probably be the best bet. Are you still growing? If so definitely the 177

id say im still growing but not anything significant. that’s kinda why im leaning towards 177s lol

Both would be fun. Longer skis are more stable and look cooler. Long skis are harder to spin and use especially on smaller stuff. Shorter skis are easier to spin and do tricks with, but less stable. I like a bit shorter skis but a lot of people like longer skis, all depends on your preference and style. Also where you mount make a bit difference. Center mounting will make skis feel shorter in my opinion

I say go with the 177 if you're an advanced skier, still young and growing and plan on using them for a long time. I got the 177 arvs myself I'm a bit shorter and heavier than you.

177. 170 will feel rather short. I’m your height and the ~175 that armadas are actually is a perfect length for you
