Thoughts on the damage to this ski? Really bums me out that companies just blanket “any damage related to impact” as a voided warranty. Seems like they should assess and use judgment. In my opinion this is a defect and i have had a million times worse damage to a base with no edge / sidewall problems.
Yeah i would agree. Sidewall cracking off like that shouldn't happen, but at the end of the day the company decides if they want to cover it or not. If you bought them from a shop, you may have warranty for the skis through the shop too. Dont have a lot of experience with armada's warranty program/service but id just be persistent and hopefully you get new pair of skis
I mean that looks like impact damage. Its worth a try but I’m pretty sure they are gunna say impact damage and not do shit. But hey you might as well give it a shot.
Are these declivity’s? I feel like I’ve seen a few people on here commenting on failure issues with them.
Sidenote but seems Armada quality and control has been suffering a bit lately. Wonder if it has to do with Amer’s ownership changing in 2019. Granted, this is only what I’ve observed online. I had some ARV86s I bought in 2020 and then sold and they seemed fine so that’s my only armada experience as of recent. Curious what others have to say about that.
Yes declivity 92s with less than 10 days on em. I agree - there was obviously some impact, but there was not a noticeable event that i would expect something like this to happen. Not even a core shot, and no compression. I cant understand how the base withstood more that the edge and sidewall.
Thanks for the feedback. Ill definitely give it a shot and talk to my local retailer.
another angle for the interested…
ABS is lego material and more prone to crackage than UHMW-PE or bamboo, etc. Thats the only thing I can think of as for why that happened. Sucks man. Good luck with the warranty.

Yeah. I guess i just am getting increasingly annoyed that warranty policies wont even consider skis with impacts. Like if you make a ski, its gonna hit a few rocks here and there. All skiers know that. Companies should be trying to make a product that doesnt fail like this and should back that up.
Is it me or does it look like you hit something so hard it pushed your edge a full 1-2mm inwards? Breaking part of it off too.

will let ya know how it goes in a few days
It's not meant to hit rocks. Hitting rocks is pretty much a choice. Every time I have hit a rock, I pretty much knew there was a chance based on the terrain and snowpack
Valid - i just think the damage here is egregious for the amount of impact. I probably wouldnt have thought twice if the result was a core shot or slight edge compresson. At least they would be usable… the base withstood more that the edge and sidewall? Crazy.
I used to have a few pairs of Bluehouse skis and they all lost sidewall like that before they even had edge cracks. They still ski'd fine, but they did warranty one of the pairs for me.
