tbh I view full tilts as a beginner boot, unless you clearly shred I'm gonna assume you're a just learning. Nothing wrong with that! They're easy to put on and look cool so of course people just coming to the sport love them.

not judging just sharing my view, if someone comes skiing down on rental gear I assume it's one of their first times skiing, I know thats an extreme example but still. Seems like lots of people start out on full tilts but then switch to "less cool" or "non-freestyle" boost that fit them much better. Kinda the same thing with line skis, lots of people start out on them but then switch to other brands once they figure out what type of ski they like.

look all I'm saying is that I've seen a lot of dudes start out on FT when they get into park skiing and then switch to a different, better fitting boot after a couple seasons, myself included. If full tilts fit you then thats great. Bode Miller skis on full tilts, obviously there are good skiers that ride them. That still doesn't change my view that they are more common among park skiers who are just getting into it and didn't know about boot fitting and chose whatever boot was most comfortable and looked coolest

topsheet damage imo is actually cool as long as it doesn't fuck with ski strength. My bro had arv 106 armadas and the topsheet damage was insane. looked cool. meant he could rip. haha

Definitely get the sentiment of this, I mean I got my full tilts and first skis (Rossignol S3's) off a snowboarder friend who wanted to try skiing. The full tilts didn't fit him well and they seemed to fit me perfect. It was my first setup coming off of rentals. By most accounts I would be regretting getting those boots years later and getting boots that fit me better. Except I went to a boot fitter years later and asked him about Dalbellos etc and he told me that my full tilts fit me perfect and that my feet weren't a good fit for Kryptons.
I guess I'm the exception to the rule here, though I do think it's whack af to judge someone based on their legit non-rental gear. Although... do kinda judge people on 160cm rossignol experiences or something lol just not ever based on their boots. Honestly I see another dude with full tilts and we end up talking on the chair lift on how much we like our full tilts lol.

my jimmies remain un-rustled, I was actually relating to the fact I was a beginner when I first got into my FT's. Not even a beginner park skier just a jerry ass beginner lol. Though my friend, a snowboarder, was going for beginner park skier for sure. So the point remains.
And like you said, popular if you are just getting into park skiing. I think whoever buys FTs is usually into skiing... for the skiing. And if someone is into skiing for the skiing I would never judge them honestly. On the other hand if you get heated boots cus you're afraid your toesies will get a wittle cold pizza-ing down that green run like three times before you take an instagram photo shoot then hit the lodge, then yeah I'm gonna judge you lol.

This kid came into the shop and tried seeing about getting his revolts warrantied because the top sheets got all torn up along the waist of the ski from clacking his skis together.
