Compared to previous years when teams had fluoro overlays coming out ghe demon hole it seemed very apparent the skiers were not keeping their speed very well on the flats or accelerating well on the steep sections. For me at least this “no fluoro” shit almost completely destroys the fun of watching ski racing competitions. It would be like watching the tour de france where they all had to ride on fucking flat tires.

Like yeah its the same rules for everybody, but imo it fucking crushes the fun of watching skiing.

the new non-fluoro detritus is so fucking slow its visually palpable when you watch.

I think even if the FIS allowed just low fluoro waxes it would be a huge step in the right direction.

An interesting study for dolan to do on waxes and bases that would actually provide utility would be comparative speed under the same conditions on the same slope between flouro and others.


Unfortunately dolan doesn't actually ski so we sadly will never see that data

toxic is an overstatement. Fluoride is in fucking toothpaste for the same reason ski waxes used it. The point of fluoride toothpaste is to make the tooth surface slippery so bacteria cant grab a hold of and grow.

Can you find times before and after ???? And average speeds???
Different cameras and lens can skew the visual field and make things appear different

As long as all the competitors follow the same rules the competition is fair. A particular wax rule has no effect on the level of competition unless it's unenforceable and some cheat.
