Tuscon cop unloads 9 rounds into cripple in electric wheelchair
yall see the video of the cop shooting a cripple in a wheelchair 9 times in the back? can't make this shit up. Dude dumps 8 then waits a moment and shoots one more for good measure. cop even handcuffs him after he slumps onto the ground. He could've just tipped the wheelchair over or something? but no cop straight executes him like he caught his opp lacking. Demons among us man. https://www.newschoolers.com/videos/watch/1020534/Bodycam-Footage-Of-Arizona-Officer-Shooting-Wheelchair-Shoplifting-Suspect
Police equity training at work. Gotta balance out smoking a black dude now and then by offing a white disabled guy. Just keeps HR’s spreadsheet in check.
I’m guessing the cop thought he was preventing an armed suspect from entering another store. They shoot to kill not disarm wheelchairs. I seriously think there would have been a better outcome if the three stooges were in charge of responding and not these militarized clowns. You can hear the first officers voice was almost lackadaisical.
CatdickBojanglesWas he trying to shoot his tires out and missed? This is why you don't let kids that got bullied in school become cops on a power trip.
RH406We should start publicly lynching police officers when they do this shit. Send the message.
Eventually someone’s family member is gonna slide on a cop. If you want to act like a gang member don’t be surprised when people treat you like opposition. Pretty sure something like this has already happened in Chicago. Of course once we reach that point it’s just armed citizens vs police and that’s a shitshow. Pretty much a civil war
This honestly looks like suicide by cop. The suspect went into Walmart and stole a toolbox with a knife then drove it across the street with the cop trying to get him to stop the entire way and drove it right up to someone at Lowes. The suspect was arrested previously for grabbing an officers gun. The officer had no idea if the dude was actually disabled or just got/stole a wheelchair and could have used it to ride up to the Lowes employee then jumped up and stabbed him. Its fucked up to watch and the cop should have tazered the guy but the suspect pretty much did everything he could to try to get shot.
The first time I saw that video I couldn't help but laugh at how ridiculous it it. He fucking unloaded on that guy when 1) he was in a mf wheelchair and 2) one round would've sufficed regardless.

YEAH MAN! WE SHOULD TEACH ALL COPS TO FEAR FOR THEIR LIVES TO THE POINT OF MURDERING UNARMED CITIZENS IN WHEELCHAIRS!
THIS IS AMERICA! OUR POLICE SHOULD TREAT EVERY CITIZEN AS A POTENTIAL ENEMY COMBATANT JUST LIKE IN IRAQ AND AFGHANISTAN! FUCK YEAH! AWESOME IDEA!
NO MORE DEAD COPS AND I DON'T CARE HOW MANY UNARMED CITIZENS DIE BECAUSE OF IT! FUCK YEAAAA!!! MERICA!!! BLUE LIVES MATTER!!

Idk man, attacking the cop with your knife seems like a much more efficient way to get shot, that guy was likely just mentally unstable, not sure he was necessarily trying to get shot.
You can argue all day about what the guy in a wheelchair could have done 5 minutes or 5 years from now and whether or not this prevented anything. The fact remains that when the officer fired, the suspect was not an immediate life threat to anyone and nothing warranted shooting him in the back with 9 fucking rounds.
The officer is being terminated, and I'm guessing is probably going to get some well deserved jail time.
CrunnchyVanManKey word is "could" y'all righties always assume the absolute fucking worst of people
The guy just committed armed robbery and threatened a store employee with a knife. Would you rather wait until someone innocent dies? Im not saying the cop didnt fuck up, he should have used a tazer but as a cop you have to make those judgement calls in a matter of seconds.

maybe cops need actual training cuz that little mix up happens far too often

bro he is in an electric wheelchair? going what a max of 3mph? all you have to do is walk away.
all I can imagine you saying is that this is the steamroller scene in Austin powers. Lol

Thats assuming the guy is actually disabled and not some meth head that stole an electric wheelchair which the cops dont know.
The dude was disabled from an accident and previously pulled a cop's gun out of its holster and shot at someone before which landed him an attempted murder charge. Im not saying what the cop did was correct as he could have used non-lethal for some time before but the guy who got shot went out of his way to get himself into that situation.

Okay, so we should shoot everyone because they might do something. Checks out.
yup if he had lunged at someone by hopping out of the chair this wouldn't have been an issue. They would have been protecting the public. But that isn't what was happening. Stop using hypotheticals.
Also, previous crimes are not an excuse for execution without trial. Which is what this was. Did you even watch the video?? You're doing a shitload of mental gymnastics in order to justify a cop shooting a man, who wasn't at the moment a threat to anyone, in the back, pausing, and putting one in the head. The cop very clearly put the employee in far more danger than the wheelchair. Bullets travel and the employee is extremely lucky she wasn't shot as well in the crossfire.

Im not defending the cop, I said multiple times he fucked up and should have used a taser. Im just saying that based on this guys past history and his actions it looks like he was trying to provoke something from the cops and maybe even suicide by cop. The guy chose to go into Walmart, he chose to pull a knife on the store employee in front of security and a cop and leave with stolen merchandise, he chose to ignore the cop trying to get him to stop and deescalate the situation for the entire time he was going across the parking lot, he chose to have a knife out and wheel himself into a different store at another employee. Yeah there are hypotheticals but that is what happens when your own stupid/dangerous decisions put you in a situation like this and the cop has to make a judgement call not having any idea who you are and what you are going to do. Yeah, the cop had bad training and made a shitty call and should be punished but the dude has his own culpability in the situation as well.
Look up the Tueller Drill, it shows a person with a knife can cover 21 ft in 1.5 seconds and lethally stab someone.
You are defending the cop. You’re making excuses for his actions which is a defense mechanism. If you truly think this dude was wrong, why are you typing out so much? And if that’s the same drill they showed us in my CHL class, the person covers the distance WITH THEIR LEGS

Mainly because tons of people on the internet throw things out like, "All cops are murderers waiting for the opportunity." and "That cop was a killer and just wanted to kill someone.". Yeah the cop got into a fucked off situation and made the wrong call but its BS people put absolutely no responsibility to the guy who went out of his way to escalate the situation to that point.
Tf you mean? Of course the guy who got shot was responsible for his previous actions but that doesn’t mean he deserved to be gunned down from behind. The cop is supposed to be in charge of the situation so he takes the ultimate responsibility especially considering what we see in the video.

I agree with you 100%
what if the guy was actually Jackie Chan, and did a backflip out of the chair, knocked the gun out of the cops hand with a beer can, threw the wheel chair at the other cop, did a back hand spring and stabbed them both before scaling up the wall and escaping on a chopper he had hidden on the roof?
They did what they had to do. Because you never know. Maybe he's a dude in a wheelchair, maybe he's Jackie Chan. You just never know.
This dude does handplants and backflips in a wheelchair. How are you people still arguing that he didn't play a threat? Come on. What if dude cranked his wheelchair to brapp mode, rode past the greeter up the cookie display, did a handplant, and came flying back towards the cops. what then? Sure maybe they could have just stuck literally anything into the spokes but that's not the point. what if his wheelchair was really a spaceship? what then?!?!?!?
Idk, I get it but it sucks. That rolled up hot and unloaded. I get that cuffing the dude might be protocol but it wasn't the greatest look after they just roasted the guy.
I think the acap shit is way off but I get the push back. There has definitely been plenty of fuckery with no justice over the years. Cops are necessary, but they need to be held accountable for the gnarly shit, probably given more training.
It's good to see organizations some places for responding to the guy with mental health problems, or the college kid that ate too much acid. Some shit you don't need the cops for. Or if the cops were better at dealing with that stuff.
There's too many people on the outside on this issue. All cops should die, or every cop is amazing and I love them and wish I was a cop. A lot of cops are good people, some cops are fucking garbage humans. We need more in place to deal with the shitty ones, and good cops need to call the bullshit out. Fuck the blue code of silence vibe.
Idk, dude got smoked though. That was rough to watch even knowing it was coming. Dude was rolling at like 2 mph and just got lit the fuck up. Not a great look for the police.

The threat was to the Lowes employee, not the cops. He was about 10 feet away and heading at the employee by the door. You make a good point in you last sentence- at the time we didnt know. He could have been some disabled dude on a power trip mobbing around with a knife who couldnt really hurt anyone or some wackjob on PCP that stole a power wheelchair and could have jumped out and stabbed someone. Just because someone is sitting in a wheelchair doesnt automatically mean they are disabled, they probably are but the cost of assuming that means some innocent person could get killed. The cop fucked up and lost control of the situation and made a knee jerk reaction and killed the guy. Was it justified when he had earlier opportunity to use nonlethal means? No and I never said it was. At the same time, its not like a cop just walked up to some dude in a wheelchair and capped him just to do it.
People are misunderstanding my original post about the guy probably wanting to get suicided by a cop. It does not justify the cop shooting him in the same way that if your buddy wants to kill himself that does not justify you doing something to facilitate that shit. It just means he put himself in that situation like his previous incident where he literally grabbed a cops gun out of his holster and tried to shoot at someone. Why the shit would you do that unless you wanted to get shot for it? Yeah he probably had mental problems but you have to balance the threat to the community vs the suspect's own safety.
Cops need more training on how to deescalate situations and be more part of the community again. The shit got out of hand when after 9/11 local police forces that were strapped for funding got grants through the Department of Homeland Security to receive military equipment to 'fight terrorism' under the 1033 program but it ended up becoming part of their daily equipment, training and mindset.
The other problem is this all becomes a self perpetuating cycle where cops become more militaristic, the community does not trust them, the media throws gas on the flame on any incident that comes up before we can really look at the facts, then the public disregards law enforcement and crimes like looting are openly promoted or rationalized by people in the media thus creating more and more dangerous scenarios where people get shot with some being justified and some not. Then it gets far worse when we have mass riots and looting and destruction which just validates the cops having military equipment and training which started the whole cycle in the first place.
Use of force continuum sound familiar? This cop should be trained in it, alas here we are.

i'm so over this shit it's pathetic
why is our world so full of incompetence, why can't people in power just do their damn job.

"OH NO, THAT MAN IN THE WHEEL CHAIR IS SLOWLY ROLLNG TOWARDS ME WITH NOTHING IN HIS HANDS! MY LIFE IS IN DANGER! KILL HIM!!!"
I hope one day an officer murders one of your family members by shooting them in the back just so you can justify the officer's actions to your remaining family at the wake. AWKWAARRRD

LonelyBro you're literally in a thread where everyone is shitting on a cop for killing a white guy....and the one guy licking boots is a conservative?
Take the meds dolan the psychosis is kicking in
Dude why is your sarcasm meter so broken?
i fucking hate the cops. Some of them are ok, but most of them are low iq scumbags who think its a status victory to use their fucking gun.
The cop in this threads video should get 20 yrs in jail but he wont get a day because american police are taught to use their gun whenever they feel like it. American cops with guns are like a 16 yr old girl with their daddys credit card.
The cops and dea fbi cia swat atf vigilantes in america are a big reason why i think germany is a better country than the united states.
i mean how can you watch the video in this thread and conclude the good guys won the second world war? Do the good guys think its ok to shoot a mentally ill person in a wheelchair?

I saw a video of some really drunk dude getting tased on the beach and he was thoroughly enjoying it. He yelled "im so horny" at the end and I died laughing
RH406Wait wtf happened to tasers? Why don’t cops just fuckin zap people more often.
Or the dude on amphetamines who eats the barbs like damn breakfast, turns towards the officer, and flexes completely unbothered.
I don’t think tasers are the solution everyone claims them to be. We honestly need to work at having community intervention with people who aren’t militarized cops playing call of duty. Imagine if the dude was stopped and talked to by a social worker or someone trained in crisis management and not a trigger happy Neanderthal?
