No, my parents were not total lunatics.

I wasn't, but I'm close with people who were so that they could pursue other passions seriously. I don't think homeschooling is inherently bad. It definitely closes some doors for socialization and interaction with others which is super important as a kid, but those can be made up for through alternative methods like sports teams and stuff.

i currently am and i can ski as much as i want every day, although i just started doing it this year i still only talk to my friends i met in actual school

I was homeschooled for a year or two after i was expelled in middle school and then partially thru HS and technically graduated as a homeschooler. That count?

My siblings and I were homeschooled the whole way through, it was super dope. I don’t know why everyone thinks we aren’t good at socializing…. If anything were better at it, we were forced to interact with all different ages of people and background on the regular. Not to mention if we excelled in one area we could move on. We travelled more than anyone I knew. We all have some super good friends that were still friends with today, so yeah we can make friends, play sports, start a business do whatever the heck we want… And we finished our college prerecs in high school….

now we’re all grown up and we’re all successful and one of my brothers is on his way to breaking a million $…

homeschooling is good because it teaches you independence, if you’re not understanding something you have to figure it out on your own… which is a pretty useful life skill…

I think that is like one end of the spectrum when it comes to homeschooling, and that is great. What I have seen a lot is people homeschooling their kids because they want to push a hard lined religious curriculum and outside influences would get in the way of that so they isolate.


Now that I have kids I literally cannot wait until they start public school they are running me ragged lol

Yeah for a brief stint. Eventually switched over to going to an actual high school and was still socially awkward but had a lot more fun meeting people.
