Need new ski bag i swear

I've had the dakine fall line 190cm for about two years now and used it on trips to europe consistently. However, this bag is profoundly terrible. My skis are 178cm which leaves 22cm of slack in the bag. Even filling this gap with my outerwear, the bag sags so badly on the ground that the wheels dont even see use. Dragging this 6'5" 60lb body bag around crowded train stations is a fucking nightmare.

Anyone know a roller bag that doesn't sag on the ground like a waterlogged paper towel tube? Maybe has a carbonfiber skeleton to hold its shape when its lifted 0.002 inches off the ground?
Considering just getting a carry bag but I dont want chronic muscular imbalance from carrying my entire ski setup on my right shoulder ;)
any suggestions are appreciated

Get bigger skis to take up the space and provide structure?

Honestly though I'm not sure. How many pairs do you usually carry? I typically use the fall line 190cm for two adult and two kids skis and find it works pretty well but it sounds like you travel with skis a lot more than I do.

Get the 175cm. I had this same problem when I took a 185 bag to NZ with 171 skis lmao. I think I can honestly fit my entire quiver in a 175. Maybe even my 182 true tape heavily cambered skis too. 178 no problem

Was thinking also if you have two or more pairs you could strap them together offset so they take up the length of the bag?

You know they make a 175 length right? I wonder how much slack that bag has if it could accommodate an extra couple cm. Also are your skis truly 178? Measure them cuz most brands are listed as pre-press length. You might be able to get away with this smaller bag size.

Would packing other stuff in the bag help? Like put a bunch of heavy weight clothes (hoodies for example) above the skies to fill the space. Never tried it but it might work. Just a thought

db (jon olsson company) makes a ski bag that allows you to roll up the slack left in the bag.

get longer skis. I have same bag, I like that I can fit my 19x skis in it! it also helps rigidity

airport crew & checkin HATES IT, 2-3 pairs of skis, 1 pair of boots, that evil look "you can only have 1 pair of skis".. me.. noop says 1 skibag right here...

also, look at douchebags for sure newer better design.

i’ve got a k2 bag that can take 2 skis. really well padded and some what hard shell by the wheels so it doesn’t sag down

Yeah, I ran into this even with 188 cm skis in the 190 cm bag. Normal ski bags get saggy and draggy. It really sucks. The best solution I've seen is the DB bags (as someone already mentioned).

I've traveled with a normal ski bag along with folks using a DB bag a fair bit, and it's wild how much tighter and more efficient they are. I have no affiliation with the brand, and don't own any of their gear, but if I was still traveling regularly with skis I'd own one of their bags for sure.

thanks for the help fellas. Will take these suggestions into consideration.
Tried offsetting skis in dakine bag but there's simply too much space! Even with two skis, boots, helment, outwear, everything lol. Will probably look into the DB ;)

The DB ski bags are pretty nice as they are light and roll-up pretty small when you reach your destination. But they are expensive.

Pretty amazing that someone uses the Fall Line for 2 adult and 2 youth skis. That has to weigh 49.5 pounds. On a related note, the DB bags are light, so your chances of getting fucked by luggage fees on 50+ pound bags is slim.

I definitely weigh it before I get to the airport try to hit 48lb to allow a little margin of error on either scale.
