Boots wiggle sideways in bindings

My boots wiggle sideways in my Griffons. They don't always do this and it seems to be more common when it's colder. I think it starts after I've had a hard landing. It doesn't really affect my skiing but it's a little distracting especially when landing switch.

They're already on a second pair of skis so they're pretty old so don't instantly tell me to get Pivots. Is there a way to fix this? I don't know much about binding technology. Would cranking up the din help? :-D

Low AFD I’m sure as it’s very commonly low from the beginning but will get worse with boot wear.

Place a business card/gift card under the toe so it’s between the AFD and ski boot with the card sticking out enough to grab it. The AFD is raised by turning the front screw(17 on the picture) on a modern Griffon(older ones used to have a screw on the front side of the AFD which was a pain to adjust) clockwise to raise it. Posi drive screw but Phillips will work in a pinch.






Pull back on the rear cuff of the ski boot to “wheelie” the toe and eliminate slack and then check to see the gap between the AFD and ski boot. Raise the AFD until you feel the card is tight and resisting being pulled out even with pressure on the rear cuff of your boot eliminating slack still.

Check the forward pressure on the heel too after you’re done. Screw flush with the heel piece.
