Boot height by brand

In my experience 3-piece boots (Full Tilts using the Original and Soul shells, Dalbello Kryptons and Lupos, etc.) are generally taller than most overlap boots with the notable exception of the Full Tilt models on the newer Evolution shell (i.e. Ascendant, Descendant, Kicker, B&E Pro) which is much lower. Shell height is one of the main reasons I've been in FTs and Dalbellos for years.

Another place to look for some added cuff height would be an Intuition wrap liner. Obviously there's only so much support you can add with a liner, but they're pretty tall and maintain a consistent height around your leg (as opposed to tongue liners that are normally significantly taller in the back than the front.)

Hey thanks for the reply! Never heard of the intuition wrap liner. I’ll check that out! As far as 3 piece boots go, I like the idea of them but for reason my feet don’t seem to fit in them super great. They just aren’t the most comfortable for me.
One boot that I have yet to try on is the Lange RX130. Anyone know if these are pretty tall?? Or have any other comments on them?

I have an RX140 and it’s definitely not any lower than the standard ski boot, but I wouldn’t say it’s much taller either. Kinda tough to say, I think you’d notice a bigger difference by changing to a wrap liner than you would a specific boot.

I’m still waiting for these to make a comeback

First you can't measure from the ground to the top of the boot - boots have different internal stand heights. If you want to know how tall it is on a leg you need to remove the liner and measure internally.

Looking at plastic cuff height, measuring internally from the heel of boot board up to the top of the rear center of the cuff, Lange is one of the lowest in the 98mm world. The Hawx Ultra is the tallest. IIRC, the difference is about 8-10mm.

If you take the liner into consideration, the Hawx Ultra is still the tallest but this time by closer to 15mm.

Either way, you are looking at differences measured in millimeters, not centimeters. Cuff height is not going to make or break the right boot for you. It will still come down to fit, fit, fit, and flex.
