NixxPost afew closeup pics. It also could be the buckle thingy that tightens the boot not staying in place and going loose when pressures applied. If I were u I would pull on the cables and see if they are firm or have any give, then try pulling on the buckle to see if that has any give.
CatdickBojanglesIs the buckle sliding forward? It sounds like your liner is packed out.
rojo.grandetrust me go set yourself up with real boots. Full tilts are garbage idc how much hate I get for it, every downvote is someone who hasn’t been professionally fit and set up. Ski boots are the most important piece of gear aside from bindings. When I went from FT to langes (not my choice it was recommended by my boot fitter based on my foot type) my skiing completely changed
Piss_BoyI was thinking I want a boot without the cable design. Hopefully heading to get fitted next week. A little worried about the cost of new boots I've always gone used

SwagMan420if it fits it rips. some people (including myself) fit FT’s well, and just because of the hype people seem to think that it’s impossible for FT to offer a good fit, which is weird
animatorLol you probably don’t know any “professional fitters,” and if you did, they’d tell you that for the right foot, FT boots would fit just like any other boot. Someone could go from Lange to FT and their world could change completely.
rojo.grandeI went to northern ski works in vermont man. They did tell me exactly what you said, but also added that fulltilts are an illegitimate low quality boot. Hopefully that’s professional enough for you, people all over the east coast travel there to be fit. It was recommended to me thru NSP so I’m gonna venture that I do know a professional fitter

SwagMan420don’t care. i like mine and they fit great and they have one season on the so far, hopefully they stay wicked for many to come🙏🏼
EverchangerDude honestly almost everyone I know with cables has had an issue like that I'm kinda turned off of them because of that imma stick to normal buckles.

tominiemenmaaWhat kind of issues? I've ridden ~200 days with Dropkicks and had 0 cable issues.
EverchangerThe cables becoming looser while riding not nessarily something full tilt specific even my buddies snowboard boots do that to him.

KCoCMif the buckles are loosening then you can buy replacements. if that’s not what’s happening then your boots are just too big. sounds like a combo of a new liners and smaller cables might help, but if you’re suggesting that the cables are old and have developed elasticity, that’s definitely not what’s happening 😂
WGalinskifrom all the hard impacts and times the plastic has frozen/unfrozen
tominiemenmaaHow does this happen? Do the buckles move on their own?to reply to both of you I'm not sure I just know my buddies who have em are always complaining and retightening them like I said I don't have em so idrk just speaking off what I've seen it could be there boots don't fit them right but I can't say for sure cuz my feet aren't in em also I'm not Tryna bash FT or anything it's just most people I know with boots that have cables in general have issues with them coming loose and needing to tighten em quite often
KCoCMafter replying to your post where you reference metal conductivity and irons heating unevenly, and also suggest to someone else that they need to go take a science class, I cant help but notice that you don't seem to know what freezing is. Plastic doesnt freeze then unfreeze when it goes from the ambient temperature where it is stored to the ambient temperature of the outdoors on a cold day, like when you ski in your ski boots. if it did that would imply its changing from solid to a different non-solid phase. This obviously doesnt happen. Plastics can become more brittle and susceptible to breakage over time, and repeated change in temperature might contribute to this, but saying that plastic freezes and unfreezes definitely isnt accurate.
onenerdykidIf you have to crank the buckles down on their tightest settings and your foot is still loose, you are in the wrong size and/or shape boot for your foot.
Go see a proper boot-fitter and let him/her do their work to find you the right boot. Once you find the right boot, you'll never know how you managed to ski before.
