CU Boulder Graduate School?

Looking to apply there, was wondering if anyone on NS went there for undergrad or grad and had any insights about the school. For reference it’s for a masters in civil engineering idk if that makes a difference at a big school like that

What areas are cool around there, I’ll have a car so I can live anywhere within a reasonable distance from both Denver and Boulder

You might also put in an application at CU Denver. They have very nice engineering facilities there, you get the same degree, it tends to cost less, and it expands your housing options.

Dont go to Boulder, you’ll get addicted to crack kid.

but if you do, westminster is ill af. Probably your best for cheap housing, right off 36 corridor but still close to denver. Everyone who moves away misses it

Every university is horrible, I hear a lot of the same complaints from students at different schools all over the country lol colleges are just jokes it’s adult daycare really

Not on the school but on the town: If you like climbing, hiking, trail running, cycling, sort of mountain biking...then boulder is one of the best places on earth. Especially if you like to do those things without getting in your car. If you don't, then it is insanely expensive for not much else. Social circles for the non-college student heavily revolve around being active outdoors year round. Oh and if you like ripping the park eldora is a 40min bus ride / drive and has a pretty rad setup for 5 months of the year.

This guy knows whats up. Broomefield is a nice area too and there are a bunch of new apartment buildings that they put up. Longmont is also about 15 min away from Boulder and has a good bus schedule but the prices have gone up a lot there since all the new influx of people.

I got my undergraduate degree from CU Boulder and from what I have heard their Graduate programs are actually pretty good. Just dont try living in Boulder as a grad student.

Me and my girlfriend were actually looking at Longmont specifically. Also hearing that the grad program is actually decent makes me feel much more confident about this decision

Longmont has killer internet. Cool spot. One nice thing about broomfield is you are closer to Denver if you end up having friends there. Def worth visiting if you can and checking things out!

Bouta graduate on December 12th. All the cheap food on the hill just got knocked down for a hotel, housing prices still going up, etc. Colorado is still a dope place just wouldn't recommend living in Boulder if you aren't an undergrad. Better skate parks near Denver, better food in Denver, better concerts in Denver (The Fox now on some boujee jam band shit). I'd definitely look into the surrounding suburbs and cities instead of Boulder as you are still close enough to shred but don't have to deal with the bs.
