The tech at my local ski shop gave me a piece of a lacrosse stick shaft specifically to bend my breaks back into place when I fuck em up. Works really well. I recommend trying

You totally can. Back in the day there just weren't wide brakes in general, I had b75 pivots bent out for everything. Just use a cut off ski pole or lax stick like the other dude said and do a good job of it and you'll be fine

STH brakes are cheap. Worst case if you break them you can pick new ones up for cheap.
