Don't buy line skis

Bought a pair of new TW pros in the offseason, ski'd on them two days when Utah got snow, both edges have completely detached from the sidewall in the same spot on both skis.

The skis came with a two year warranty card so I filed a warranty claim through the online retailer. Online retailer comes back and says Line is out of stock, and although the online retailer I bought from has the same ski in stock, they won't send me the same ski because the price has increased since the purchase was made and Line won't cover the difference in price. We're talking about a $60 price increase... on top of this, Line won't cover the shipping cost to send the skis back or the cost to have the replacement skis sent back to me.

When speaking to the online retailer's warranty center they were like I'm gonna be real with you don't even get Line replacement skis, use the store credit on a different brand because the number of warranty claims we get on Line skis is unreal. Had 2017 TW pros before this with no durability issues. Love the line brand and athletes but just a warning to anyone who's in the market for new skis and doesn't want to get egregiously bent over by poor quality and a warranty process that will end up costing you half the retail price of the skis

Fuck yeah dawg, they're such a fun ski. Snagged a pair of last years on pro deal, stoked to get a little more snow and go shred them.

What makes me love the chronic does not necessarily translate to durability but it was apparent to me as soon as I grabbed the ski. I think we consumers sometimes forget the trade off of materials and weight.

I’ve got 110% respect for line. My first ever real twin tips were Line Mike Nicks and I loved the hell out of them. Plus, Line supports homies of mine so I support them!

Aren't volkl made in Germany?
IsaacNW82I remember line being pretty iffy build quality too, which is wierd bc as far as I know they are built in the K2 factory along K2 (unkillable) and Volkl (I've had very durable Volkls save one single ski).

Yeah I'm sure the topsheet delam had nothing to do with the insane sidewall damage that's clearly apparent on your skis and it was just fluffy pow pow that ripped them apart.......

wait really? Recently i wanted to get a new pair and thought about a revolut 104. So i had todo some research because i want a ski who is produced in EU. Then i cam across an interview of volkl in which they were saying stuff like: we thought about producing overseas but wanted to keep it local because of this and that.. Therefore it thought they'll have to be made in eu. I'm still not aure tho cause it was just an interview ig from 2020.or so

I had 17/18 Revolt95's and the topsheet had Made in China print underfoot. Pretty surprising if that's changed.

Look at this dork name Scott, I would guess he’s in his mid 30s and still likes to spend his time on a ski forum calling young people a disgrace.

Scott’s hairline is probably 3 inches further back than this pic by now and I highly doubt any female would get within 6 feet of this man. No not because of social distancing. Because he sucks. Be more like Scott to avoid being a disgrace though.

To my understanding most companies like to keep this stuff pretty ambiguous unless they are 100% USA made like ON3P or Moment, but I think Volkl is a mix, not really sure what gets built where but some is in Germany and some is made in the K2 factory in China (same parent brand, Newell). If I were to take a guess probably high-end race skis in Germany but its just a guess

HAHAHA I literally have this exact setup. Maybe I ski like a weenie but I haven’t had durability issues
