SofaKingSickat your size you're fine for the 12s and they're definitely cheaper. right now you aren't going to find sales on any of them really i bet. you could also get some tyrolia attack 12/13/14s if you want to go cheaper but still have a good binding
Skiblade420I might be totally wrong but I think the construction changes slightly at 14 and then again at 16?
I don’t have pivots but I would get the 12s if I was you. They’re lighter than the 14s,15s and 16s. Doubt you would need to go over 9 din. Look into durability differences of the 12s though.
I’ve talked to a few ski techs in shop and they’ve all said the whole having to run your dims at half the amount of the binding is a bunch of bull / manufacturers wouldn’t allow you to crank them that high if it was that terrible for the binding.
animatorNot totally. The 12 and 14 are the same save for their springs, and the same goes for the 15 and 18. 12 and 14 are a mix of plastic and metal construction while 15 and 18 are all metal toe piece.
Grondini117Yes another pivot thread i’m sorry y’all😐 So i can get pivots 15s for 280$ cad or pivots 12 for 220$ cad, which voice would be the best? Is there really that big of a durability difference? I’m 150lbs and 5’11, i ride like a 8-9 din, all i’m worrying about is value. I’m not sure i should spend the extra 60$ because i’ve already spent 1k$ cad for vishnu’s and full tilt for this year.
Poindexter.V212 and 14 have the same toe. 15 as the metal toe with the single pivot design.
The 12 and 14 toe can do a barrel roll style release which allows for a bit of a smoother ejection.
People are quick to start saying the 15 is way more durable. But honestly you'll be fine with either. After mounting and tuning hundreds and hundreds pairs of skis with pivot 12/15s, the only breaking I ever see is on the heel.
Coleg55Yo please link the pivot 15s
DesertStixSay sike rn
Those plastic “wings” on the toe piece break but idgaf honestly I still buy more.
OP, I run both bindings and go with whatever’s cheaper especially if you already dropped a rack on skis and boots
Grondini117yeah, think that what i’m gonna do, i’ve dropped so much cash rn even a few bucks hurt lol, 12s should be just fine since im not super super agressive, shouldn’t be too harsh on them. thanks!
Grondini117It’s a personal deal sorry my guy, my gf works at a ski store lmao

Poindexter.V2Lemme just ignore ten years experience after receiving one piece of anecdotal evidence from you
