Pivots longevity

Was hoping to get some feedback from people who have had experience with look pivots and how long they lasted before the breaks broke or they haven’t had any problems, from what I heard riding switch can cause the breaks to break

Pivot breaks typically only break when landing switch if the brake digs into the snow

Yup, and this comes from people sizing up too much on their brakes.

my dad has these rosy pivots (before they were rebranded to look) on his late 90s K2 mogul skis, he still runs them occasionally although I tell him to for his own safety lol. As far as modern day pivots go, in my experience they are a super solid binding the only think I have heard about them is the brakes can catch the ground landing backward and rip off.

Dude my first pivots are still kicking harder than hell 5 years in with no signs of slowing down. Don’t baby them either

You will be fine. Even if you eject switch theyll just bend a bunch and you bend them back. If you do break them just take em apart and fix them

Yes but but really, when you land hard switch and go a bit nose heavy your heals come come up a bit causing the brakes to go start going down as you near closer to a release. Not really because of width

This is a myth. Pivots are totally solid.

every single brake on the market can break if you land switch and it digs in. pivots aren't any worse. The problem with pivots is they cost twice as much to replace as attacks, griffons, or sth

Most importantly, you have to take the binding off the ski to replace the brakes.

meh, you have to do it with attacks too. plus if you put that much force on it you probably need to check the screws anyways.
