Is the Mantra 102 good for women?

It makes no difference if you are a dude or a girl all that matters is how hard you ski and how big you are lol. If she’s 5’9, has felt the edge of a ski, and knows how to flex her boots she should be fine.

Does your girlfriend want a metal ski? I liked the Mantra back when I was racing or occasionally at Bridger but I wouldn't say it's versitial. Definitely more advanced though. What kind of skiing does she do/where do you guys ski? I've worked in shops for years and I'm a lady so I might be able to help!

100% Contact this fine individual. I would be very surprised if your girlfriend liked the Mantra 102. The ski is a little intense at times.

Mantra's are pretty stiff skis, I usually direct larger skiers towards that type of ski. Personally think that Pandora's will feel much more fun and playful. She'll be able to get the ski on edge a lot easier and it won't require a crazy aggressive style. Just my 2 cents

Yeah she doesn’t race, but we ski bridger also.

Was brand new at the ski swap so pulled the trigger without doing tons of research, I have heard of it but haven’t gone that much into it.

they'll take a bit of speed to come alive, but at her size the 170s should be fun. They should be noticably more ski than her current Pandoras. For reference - I'm 175 and run 177s.

They are not really all that demanding to ski - a bit of a forward stance and a bit speed make them easy to ski skis with a serious top end. Their relative weight becomes a lot less noticeable at speed, while they still bash through variable like a metal ski should.

They are less fun at slower speeds in super tight terrain and if skied from the back seat - but seeing as she has sized down those traits should be slightly remedied. The long, low rocker zones, nearly flat underfoot mated with a damp construction makes these a ton less work than chargers of yesteryear. They are killer groomer zoomers imho, coming from a guy who are usually on wider skis and who do not have a race background.

Give them a try, though keeping the Pandoras around might be a good option too - nice two ski quiver.
