Still working on this tank. Got three different types of Anubis from my temporary 5 gallon planted tank, the rotala was melting so I just tossed that. Put three neons that were in that tank into here. Hoping to get 5-6 more. Along with some serpa & lemon tetras. Possibly two or three Colombians or Red eyes also. Then a clown pleco or dwarf snowball pleco. And a pair of apistos. Along with a lot more plants. Will take a few months to get everything and quarantine them and get the plants acclimated so there no melt, but should shape up nicely

The vanishing point is my pride and joy. But as far as steel nibs go I like the twsbis. Thinking of snagging a twsbi diamond before another gold nib. Thinking a sailor 1911 or pilot custom 823. Those are both way down the road when I have more money though.

Sick collection! I’d love a vanishing point at some point also been looking at a 1911 for a few years. Aside from a twsbi and a faber castell these are my daily drivers for the past 5 years. My grandfather gave me my montblanc 4 years ago which was sick since it was the first fountain pen I’ve written with.

Do the lifts just reduce the amount of life that grows on the bottom of the boats or is there another use for them? Can you leave the boat on the lift over the winter?

Yeah the scum is one thing that happens if you leave your boat in the water all summer. I have some stuff that will take it off pretty easy but it’s some pretty nasty acid treatment. Mostly just having a secure place to keep it that is accessible from land. I did a couple years of tying it up to someone’s dock over the summer it’s a real drag to have to babysit the boat constantly it just gets the holy fuck beat out of it by boat wakes and rough water. Plus if you need to work on it it’s up out of the water I pull the plug so rain doesn’t collect in the bilge.
I don’t keep it on the lake in the winter time the lake levels here are too unpredictable during storm seasons. It’s pretty common for the lake to be 5-6 feet higher than in that pic by February. So it’s a spring to fall thing pretty much.
It’s called electrofishing. If you need to excavate a stream that has fish in it you gotta get all the fish out before you drain the water- there’s a little coho salmon in that bucket which are endangered so there’s a lot of permitting and regulations around it.

I absolutely love Ninilchik! I’ve got close friends there and usually halibut fish out of there every year. When the fishery isn’t closed, we king fish there, too. What brings you there?

The kings have crashed in many areas of the state. It’s devastating. Coho aren’t bad here, and the sockeye are setting records around the state this year. Just got back from a week of slaying at our cabin.

I work for a city stormwater utility but all this stuff is in part regulated by WDFW. They issue a hydraulic project permit that lays out how to safely remove and protect fish, if you’re messing with a ‘water of the state’ they employ all the biologists that say how they want it restored etc etc

I actually had a pilot metropolitan for my first pen, about 10 years ago in second grade, and got my montblanc from my grandpa when I finished middle school it’s such a smooth pen even for being 10+ years old. No one in my hick ass county understands why anyone would spend more than $5 on a pen. The amount of times I’ve said my montblanc and other pens were $15 just to avoid that conversation

Nice, I'll be up there at my buddy's house for a week and a half at the end of this month. Im moving for a lot of reasons - I'd say the major ones are hunting and fishing opportunities, forestry work and availability of land.
