That's the traditional way of making "flip". It's a hot beer punch that used to be really popular 200+ years ago. They'd take the poker out of the fire and use that to heat the beer

It caramelizes the sugar in the beer while reducing the carbonation. So it makes the beer have a smokey sweet taste and gives it a really fluffy mouth feel. Really tasty. It does not make the beer hot.

No that’s not what a beer spike is for. The beer also does not get hot.
Ya that’s not at all what the beer taste like. Nor is it hot. The taste will depend on what beer you’re using the spike in. This was a porter with chocolate, marshmallow, vanilla and graham cracker. So imagine the beer having a toasted s’mores taste after being spiked.
as long as the beer was poured cold, which this was directly from a cooled tap line, the beer stays cool while drinking.

both are taking a hot rod and sticking it in your beer or beer/liquor/sugar mix to caramelize it. its the same shit lol. kinda like an old fashion and a manhattan are basically the same. yeah theres some key differences but its the same lol

Not the same. A flip is a type of beverage. A beer spike is a tool. Using a beer spike doesn’t make any beverage a flip. You asked what a beer spike is used for in beer. Using a beer spike in beer doesn’t make it a flip. My stouts with a beer spike were not flips. Details matter.
VTshredder69DO they only sell snow sports gear? Seems so strange
Skates and blades, and those weird single wheel electric scooter things. But they are mainly a ski shop, skis, boots, equipment etc. and a smaller snow Board section as well. Along with a tech department. They have a few locations all over Florida. They’re the oldest shops in Florida.

I guess a lot of older people enjoy skiing and live in florida for the winters. It's just hard to wrap your head around having ski shops in Florida for me. Be back in Sarasota in a few weeks. Hoping there is some beach left.

They’ve been around a while. My parents shopped there when they were kids. We also get a lot of snow birds in general that have migrated down here but still go up north to ski.
Sorry to hear that. Which generation did you have? I already have one of these and I’ve loved it so much. Also have the evo version and it’s super cushy. This one is gonna split the difference with a burlier build on the lighter platform.
The flex stay one. Was partially user error because I put a 160 fork, dh casing tires and a coil on it. Bought to race xc and then loaded it up when done.

Ahh, I can see how that might not translate to the best ride. What are you on now?

Even upgraded it was struggling to handle most of the stuff I rode. Sold to buy my evil
sick. i had the gen 1 insurgent back around 2015-2018 and it is still one of my all time favorite bikes. definitely considered getting a wreckoning before buying the stevo. i'm very curious to see what changes evil make to the next gen bikes when they come out.
