Is this type of top sheet damage from previous years of skiing going to break down the skis? I also started fieling my skis, using a metal file. How much should i file the skis till they are considered detuned? Thanks!
marine epoxy if you want to limit chipping. Detuning your edges with a file is good if youre doing rails, it will make the edge last longer before cracking.
I wouldn’t worry but then again, I’ve always been pretty not worried about filling topsheet damage with epoxy. Honestly, there’s a fiberglass layer there. That’s why I don’t tend to get too worried.
But if it is straight to wood, then yes - fill it/cover it with epoxy
What everybody else said works. Also, make sure to wipe your skis off with a cloth, and store them in a warm / not humid place at the end of each day to make sure they completely dry.
