Is tea better in Asia?

Asians have mastered tea manufacture and steeping millenia ago and it's a staple in their society. Question for those who've been to Asia....do they really do it better over there?

I got a kettle that can brew the perfect cup of tea but I have to imagine drinking expertly grown and dried tea from an old school kettle at one of those little tables has to be pretty cool.

UK doesn't count. They're noobs compared to Asians.

After tasting green tea in Japan, there's isn't any here that I can stomach.

Yeah. Friend is from China. He brought me 1 jasmine and 1 black (forget details now) tea leaves grown 2 months ago at the time. You can easily tell young tea leaves taste fresh unlike anything you've tasted before. Quality control issues with tea from China can be an issue though unfortunately. Tea grown in industrialized soil can contain heavy metals so it's good to know someone that can verify it's not contaminated. I think in Japan that's a non-issue though.
