Are daymakers worth it?

I'm interested in them. I don't wanna have a ski with touring bindings since I never tour but I think Itd be fun to have the option

they seem kind of bulky but I'm not really doing long trips

they’re a great intro to touring if you want to try it out and see if you like it, but long term you will want to change systems down the road. overall the movement is good. torsional rigidity is pretty good but not great. i have lost some hardware off of mine while skiing but i have the OG ones so i think the newer design is smarter and more solid. and they come with spare parts or i’m sure you could contact them to get replacement parts if needed, too. they are kind of cumbersome but super manageable.

I’ve had them for 3 seasons, ready to upgrade to CAST.

Honestly they’ve been awesome in terms of introducing me to backcountry skiing. Super easy to get on and off and they’re not that heavy.

They stand you up pretty high so that can be uncomfortable. They also feel pretty sketch on icy traverses.

I haven’t experienced any durability issues, but I also try to be pretty light on my feet when I use them, because they do feel a bit delicate.

I’d def recommend them though if you don’t have tech inserts in your boot or pivot bindings.

Yeah this p much. Great intro or great purchase for someone who does like 2 short (less than 1000 vert feet) a season. Otherwise, they’re not great for long tours, steep/icy approaches or any of that. If you wanna see how you like it they have good resale value so you could defo flip them after you use them too.
