Sakanas for a daily driver?

Looking for a third ski setup that will suit me well for kicking horse mountain/ in bc backcountry, currently i have a pair of ON3P Kartel 96’s, and a pair of line vision 118’s with shifts for pow/ touring. I was thinking a sakana with a shift would be a fun option for in the middle but im trying to decide between that and a bacon. Open to other options as well so what are some recommendations. Ideally something between 105-108

I had a sakana as a daily driver when they first came out for about a season until they pulled a line skis and the edge blew out.

Super sick ski concept, carving was unreal and I could definitely hold onto some pretty big airs comfortably. However it’s worth noting that because of the super far back mounting it’s weird to get used to 3’s on and you kinda have to land 180’s perfectly otherwise you go splatto mode. Chill groomer day I’d give it a 3/3, pow day 3/3, big mountain 2/3, and park 0/3

Ik a guy who regularly has thrown some cork 5s on sakanas. Also skied them a few laps myself and they rip!! I’d love a pair as a carving ski but I don’t need them lol

They rip, such a fun ski and design. I think you would love the way they carve and would fit in well with what you have.

I have Jeffery 96s and Sakanas as well, I find myself riding the Sakanas just as much as the J96s. They are such a fun ski in almost any condition. I toss daymakers on them and do short tours too. I would highly recommend them.

You'll even be surprised at how well they float in deeper snow (like 20"). That fish tail really sinks in allowing the tip to plane/rise in powder in such a surfy way.

I had the original Sakana’s for a couple seasons. For ripping groomers they are amazing, you end up feeling like a fighter jet bombing around the hill. You also get a lot of different turn shapes depending on how you lean into them, I believe they were designed that way. That being said, I found them very limiting when I wanted to jib around or leave the groomers for the trees or other ungroomed terrain.

I rode the blue ones with the airplanes and they’re a pretty dreamy ski, I mounted mine with pivots And +1 from rec and helps with the way back feel. I’d recommend

I have a bunch of different skis and reach for sakanas more than any other ski. They're a niche kind of ski, not really an all rounder. They carve incredibly well, it feels like a race ski but with more variety of turn shapes. However they are awful in tight trees and moguls because of the huge tip and tails. I love mine and will never sell them

i was reading though this and i dont wana make a new thread so can someone help me out. i want a ski to replace my reckoner 102 for all mountain and ive been interested in the sakana but how playfull are they? i want something that carves a little better then the reckoner but still pretty soft and poppy
