Living near Reno in a truck camper, AM I CRAZY???

Woop! Welcome to the club!! You are not crazy for living in Reno and trying to ski Palisades every day. Did that for 4 years!

I would suggest sleeping out by Verdi or maybe even one of the pulloffs/"camp" sites near hershdale for quicker access to the hills. There should be a few that you won't get bothered at.

I don't know too much about remsa. I should know more....but I have definitely heard mixed reviews. It's an EMT gig so you probs know the deal. Lots of work and won't get paid nearly what EMTs actually should be.

I could also probs drop you a couple of pings on places if you wanted to scout them out. Never seen anyone bothered at them but you know how it is

Welcome to the dirty R! I'm sure you know the drill, NFS and BLM land are usually chill with boondocking.

Garson Rd across the freeway from Cabela's has good access and is open all year. Drive a mile or two up the road to get into NFS land. Hirschdale is another good access point closer to Palisades.

There's tons of BLM land just east of town, but that's obviously further from the resort.

FYI, Reno has a city ordinance against sleeping in your car on the street or in parking lots within city limits. If you gotta sleep in your car in town, drive over to Sparks.

Hershdale, verdi and sparks are all right on 80 varying distances to the mountains. time depends on weather and traffic and how early you leave. I've driven from reno up in the snow plenty of times but always live by the lake, so not sure how the commute situation is. Reno is fun though.

If you skate it's a good spot for year round skating. Big enough but small enough and pretty close to all the areas in tahoe. Mt rose is pretty dope too.

Verdi averages 46" of snow a year. Odds are pretty low that you'd be completely snowed in. Hirschdale is a little higher at 100" a year. If you're flexible with the forecasts, you could make most spots around town work just fine
