I saw this image of a guy with a red bull helmet who wasn’t sponsored in another thread, had to see if for myself. To my surprise it was true, and it got my interest piqued.
So I wanna see it all, the posers, the newbies, the pretentious asshats.
let’s see the best (worst) Reddit and assorted jerry forums finds from you guys.
Found on a video of a kid in a jans backpack under the lift mid day during powder panic
Hey man, hiking up a mountain at night for a night ski seems like a cool thing to do. I wonder if by hiking up, you can ride the lifts for free. How would they know? Ticket scanners are only at the base.
But Reddit OP was upset about little kids falling and laying on the landing. Guess his friend landed on some kid and people are saying he should have checked.

Rparrdogs aren't allowed in alta because it's a "protected watershed area". I think some of salt lake's drinking water comes from it
That sounds like a bs reason the town made up. Let's ignore all the vehicles and the chemicals they drop, road deicer, salt, ski wax, human and other animal waste to name a few. Not arguing with you but it's definitely a cop out for a larger reason.

I think it’s silly as well I had no idea it existed until very recently

Skiing attracts the biggest nerds i swear. People get so worked up about stuff like ranking resorts or which goggle is best for partly cloudy conditions, or which ski radius is ideal for mid day skiing. I'll have to dig up some good ones from a company email list I was on.

“US ski resort tiers rough draft v2” lmao what a thread name
People at work are either brand new to skiing, or spend way too much time analyzing every aspect of the sport. The clash of the two is pretty funny on the internal email list.
Another email somebody asked for pants recommendations, linking to $35 amazon pants and first reply suggests they try $500 black diamond bibs.
There was a 20+ email long chain about best low light lenses, where people said shit like this: "I'm a big fan of Oakley's High Intensity Yellow Iridium, it has almost 90% light transmission rate, second only to Clear, Ruby Clear, and regular Yellow. But last year I replaced the Hi yellows with Oakley’s new Prizm Rose and have been very happy with the results."
Here's someone who gets stuck in the lift line without poles:
Here's someone who needs to know the precise angle of a slope before deciding to ski it:

There’s no way this guy actually skis, he just leaves this on his floor to look at everyday

Even still, all the "creative types" I know/ride with snowboard. Arists (not designers), ad agency people, interior decorators, HR reps, sales, etc. Skiers are nerds.
