Yo how was it? Would it be worth it for me to make the 4 hour drive?

I drove about 3 and had the time of my life. But it all depends on your perspective. I was itching to get back on skis after an MCL tear in April cut my last season short so honestly I would have driven that for a hill with a rope tow.

It was super early season conditions but a lot of stuff was open for October. We found untouched snow and there were 117 people on a Saturday per ski patrol which is nothing compared to what I’m used to. There is no park but from what I understand that’s how it usually is. Someone put a flat rail under the main lift in a janky set up but the in run was so fucked I didn’t even hit it.

Yoo! I’ve got a power pass and ride Snowbowl every week all winter but have a trip already planned for purg in December (fiancé and I are getting married there) and my whole family lives in Santa Fe which is why I was in the area. I’m literally wearing a sipapu shirt right now haha

Snowbowl is gas with the right conditions. I mean obviously it’s small compared to a mountain like Taos or Purgatory but park crew is sick. They usually got 3 parks around the mountain on a good season and if you’re backcountry savvy, a lot of goods to be had after a storm because the majority of people stay inbounds. Vibes are usually high but it does get hella crowded on the weekends. Let me know if you’re down here this season!
