I think he was trying to say that I could only get the code from a CU sponsored club/org, which I do not believe is true

I tried helping out another homie in a different thread and ended up having like 50 random people text me asking for codes. Our ski club had a ridiculous surge in membership this year which translated to several hundreds of people requesting codes. Last year with covid things were pretty quiet so it was easy to get codes for friends at other schools as long as they have a student email but this year we’re super backlogged with requests and they’ve really cracked down on who can and can’t get a code. You gotta show your student schedule, show proof of membership and proof that your dues are paid, and even then, that doesn’t guarantee anything. My roommate’s a legitimate member in the club and we’re still struggling to get him a pass. So if you’re one of those people that hit me up asking for a code, I’m sorry but it doesn’t look very promising and I’m sorry if I didn’t get back to ya. It used to not really be a big deal.

Ya exactly, you need to be a student of the school that the ski club is related to. If you are a CU student and ask for a discount from any other university, it will not work. You need the email and schedule of the school you are applying to. If can secure both from a friend who goes to a different school you could probably get away with it if the photoshop is good. Not sure about sharing emails though, my school generated email didn't actually have my name, it was just a portion of my lastname + random numbers.
