theabortionatorI was skiing, I was killing it, I wanted to show my mom how awesome I was. I did another run. It was an east coast pow day. I tucked down the little hill. I caught my tips and double ejected and became very cold and snowy. Still an amazing moment though.
I love seeing the learn to ski programs out there. Getting in as a kid is what got me hooked. If I hadn't grown up in the northeast the chances of getting into skiing would have dropped by a ton. It's unfortunate how expensive it is some places. Shout out to all the mountains with the homie deals, the places that work with local schools, all the places that sell and rent used gear for stupidly cheap, all the people that hook somebody up with their old gear to get somebody out shredding. That's what the fuck it's all about!
BigPurpleSkiSuitFirst big cliff stomp, first backflip for me in terms of stoke level. I do remember one particular hit though
Greentexting because fuck you I just like writing stories that way
>at mineral basin Snowbird
>having a sober morning and just enjoying my fresh groomer laps for now
>had 2 laps, fully warmed up, starting to get a little crowded
>going down my usual groomers at close to mach dummy
>there's a hit on the right side of mineral in the middle of the groomers which is like a giant roller with a massive dropoff on the other side called the liftie classic
>hit it twice and I know the landings good but haven't really taken it that big yet
It's the hit at 3:08 in this vid

>concerned there might be people on the other side now
>one old guy standing on the lip
>out of desperation give him a thumbs up along with a shrug, as if I'm asking, "am I clear?"
>He looks over for a second, looks back at me and yells, "You're good!" while giving me a double thumbs up
>Boost it to the fucking moon and land bolts, not backseat
>ski the rest of the way down
>never see that older guy again, but it really is a special moment to have a complete stranger know exactly what you mean and do that for you

ThegenericskierThis was the peak of my existence right here. Also there is nothing better than park laps at night with 10+ fellas in the group.
skiermanLOL so your best memory is hitting a small groomer roller with an old man standing near it? WOWWWWWWWWWWWW
That's like reading about an incel whose best time with a woman was when he spied on a woman's house and jerked it to her changing in her bedroom. Fucking pathetic.
TRVP_ANGELWhen the instructor told me i can take off my rental boots

gravelsleeper days when you go up with minimal expectations and they turn out to be your favorite days of the year, whether it's because of conditions, people, learning new tricks, or just having a good day

LOOK_at_meI was skiing along hitting all the side hits and I think I did a nose butter 3 or something and then I herd someone say something about me when I passed them. I'm hard of hearing so I thought the they were complaining about how I was skiing. When I got to the bottom and was waiting in the lift line I saw the same person that I had overheard. He skied into line behind me and started talking to me about how I looked like a good skier and how he wanted his son to watch me. I told him that I had thought he was complaining about my skiing and how I am hard of hearing and he understood. Then I rode up the chair with the father and son and the father told his son to watch me next run. They then watched me and I taught the little kid how to do a 180.
