When i was younger i used to tape crocs to cardboard skis that i'd cut out. Used some mini plastic hockey sticks to give the ski a bit more structure. Tramp skis are fun but aren't the most useful. Sure you can do bare grabs n shit but you might as well throw some ankle weights on to simulate swing weight of skis. Good luck with it though, interested to see what others have done.

Tape 2 yard sticks to your feet. Light weight, flexible, and theyre long enough to grab.

Best thing i found honestly.

I used to make my own out of cardboard and chopsticks but now my local training facility has the Ski addiction ones, boy are they dope

As my local trampoline place has ski addiction skis as well and I've been renting them this summer a few times, I was thinking how useful are they actually as prep for the real thing? Should I make more trips there now before the season starts? Which stuff is most useful to practice on the tramp before trying on the snow? Grabs are an obvious thing that should be quite similar, what about things like 360s? I am just starting in freestyle skiing, can only do very few things on snow and want to progress this winter.

Buy pvc sheets. They work the best but they snap sometimes. I’m going to fiberglass mine back together. I also used threaded inserts and old snowboard bindings. They work great I highly recommend doing this. It’s the closest to ski addiction without spending too much

Practice everything. Anything you want to do on snow you could learn on the tramp first. Check out ski addiction they have tons of ski tutorials but you might notice that just upright spins are pretty difficult on tramp, especially with grabs.

yeah, I am watching those videos and I am planning to start trying the progressions for cork 360 i.e. Just wasn't sure if it does help much on snow, as the jump itself begins quite differently on a trampoline. It does help for learning to maintain better balance in the air, and probably getting used to the feeling of being in the air.

Yeah well the biggest part is the air awareness but as long as you’re setting correctly and popping really hard trampoline is pretty similar to on snow, skis just feel like ankle weights in the air. Also cork 3s on tramp probably wouldn’t help a ton on snow because real cork 3s come from carving super hard

edit: someone else more experienced should probably help you I have mostly no idea what I’m talking about

I duck taped two pool noodles (skinny pool noodles) together and duck taped old shoes I found at a thrift store onto them for a total cost of $11

I skipped the jib bar because I have a practice rail for rollerblading, but yeah, they do work well on a jib setup as well.

when i was in highschool i taped an old pair of running shoes to some unmounted blades and it was kind of a shitty medium between trampolining and real skiing but it helped tbh

Idk. Seems like a couple yard sticks taped to the feet would be as good or better and free.

Specialized stuff is sweet, but sometimes it's unnecessary. Idk. 250 is pretty steep. The tramp boards are pretty sweet too but aren't that much better than a free or cheap plastic snowboard.

I'm not that cheap but I feel on some stuff if you're on a budget it's just worth going the ghetto route.

IMHO it all comes down to how much are you going to use them, and are you prepared to invest the time or the money. The DIY things tend to break and need tuning & revisions, the commercial stuff has already been through that.

My neighbor used to poach my trampoline. He had a pair of shoes duct taped to a skate deck. One time I got home from school to find a massive bloodstain on my trampoline and a trail leading to the fence between our houses. I was fucking horrified until I looked over the fence to see him with a towel over his mouth and his mom scolding him. Hosed that shit off and didn't tell my parents cause they def would've gotten rid of the tramp. I was in like second grade.

Basically don't use something you don't wanna get smacked in the face with.
