2021 FACTION CT 2.0

gravychuteAnyone ski the 2021 faction ct 2.0’s? Were they too stiff/heavy? I’ll use them for park, all mountain everything minus deep snow. Also where should I mount them??

factions are shit don't get em same as line. both are notorious for bad durability. get armadas or faunas or some good proper durable skis.

I've definitely had friends with durability issues on their Faction's but they seem to stand by their warranty. I've had a pair of Prodigy 2.0's for a season and they have one slight edge crack and some top sheet delam but have otherwise held up pretty well.

As for the CT 2.0, I'm in the same boat thinking about getting some for park/all mountain but looking for advice

Just ordered ct 188s 2.0 2021 for 400$ … supposedly they are bombproof… so much hate on factions haha.. I think mount is like -3.5 was thinking about moving it +2 to make it -1.5 from true center…

The 2021 was insanely durable but also insanely heavy. 188 is gonna be like lifting 2 logs attached to your feet.

I have 300 + day on my ct 2.0s from 2018. 150 ish on my prod 1.0 from 2020. It’s really hit or miss.

I’ve had like 4 pairs of factions and I have a shit ton of time on mine too, never had a durability issue. Sucks because I love them but they get a bad rap. 21/22 stuff should be on par with the rest of the industry for sure but Moment and ON3P still lead IMO.

As others have mentioned, Faction were hit and miss reliability wise due to the fact they use to rely on manufacturing plants that didn’t have great consistency. In the 2018/19 season, Sporten started producing their skis and quality definitely went up. For 2021, they were made in the Fisher’s higher end plant where they make Fisher’s race skis. They overbuilt the CT 1.0 and 2.0 with weight and stiffness going up dramatically. Fantastic for someone wanting a playful charger but heavier than most like for park use.

For 2022, they have move production into the Amer plant so they are now built alongside Atomic, Salomon, Black Crows and Armada skis. The 2022 Prodigy builds are similar to 2021 but the CT line is now much lighter but with similar shape and flex to the 2021 versions.

The 2021 CT line is fantastic if you like heavier playful chargers like myself but I hope you’re a pretty strong skier to use the 2400gr 188cm CT 2.0 in the park! I now have 5 pairs of 2021 CT skis and a pair of 2021 Prodigy 3.0 as I was so impressed with the 183cm CT 2.0 I started off with last Fall.

I’d maybe go plus 1cm tops for your intended park/all mountain use as you will start sacrificing performance outside of the park.

Think the 2021 CT are great skis that are very well built but fans of the older versions should consider the softer flexing Prodigy line or wait to try the lighter 2022 versions.

Owned the Fisher 102FR, Enforcer 104 Free and Menace 98 with the 2021 Candide CT 2.0 being a great mix of those skis. Quiet and stable like the 187cm Menace 98, a great carver like the Fisher 102 FR but playful in bumps and off piste like the Enforcer 104.
The Fisher 102 FR is the stiffest and least forgiving of the group but probably the best float.
Fisher has a few manufacturing plants so not sure if the Ranger FR is made in the same plant but all my 21 CT have had an even higher quality fit/finish/tune on them.

The CT line have a unique flex as they have stiffer tip/tails than most freestyle skis but the underfoot section doesn’t get as stiff. More forgiving in bumps than you’d think after flexing them.
The CT 2.0 has a bit softer flex than the CT 1.0 or CT 3.0 so it’s not a super demanding ski as long as you can handle the weight.

I bought a 2nd pair of 188cm CT 2.0 2021 now, just to make sure, since I doubt we will get any grown up men models in years to come ;)


they are not fischer 102 FR clones, quite different skis actually

also for overall shredding when snow is deeper & more checkout the CT 3.0 2021
