Kartel 108 for east coast?

I want to cop an all-mountain ski that I can butter but still hold up ripping fast all mountain ski. I'm not too worried about the park because I got wets for that. I will spend most of the time in the park when it's icy asf on the east coast so I'm not to concerned about their performance on ice as I will be using my wets. i will ride these kartels when snow is a bit softer and better for all mountain. want them to hold up on flips and jumps but also want to butter. would the kartel 108 be a good option for this? are there any other skis I should look into? also, I would be mounting them at center if that changes anything. my older skis were the k2 marksman and I loved the flex pattern of those skis, how would the kartel compare to them?

all mountains like 90-99 108 is a free ride ski. get a mindbender 99ti if u want it to rip and float. 108 wont carve for shit

when i say all mountain i more so mean going fast on side hits and dropping cliffs and some pow here and there. also I will ski park on them so I'm not concerned about carving to much

then i might go with the faction candide 4.0 good all mountain ski and still pretty jibby

108 might be a tad too wide for east coast depending on snowfall. maybe something like a revolt 104 would suit you better? Also please don't mount Kartels center @iggyskier will commit seppuku if you do. Jeffrey 102 at recommended would also be a little more suitable perhaps.

Second this. Why would you center mount the kartels when you already have the wets for center mount activities

What you lose in edge control, you will gain in steeze.

108 would be a little wide for me, but if you can ride em, I say go for it. Wide skis look dope as long as you can actually handle them.

I’m used to it and I think it’s kinda nice to have a balanced ski in air and I’m not prioritizing carving, but I’m open to recommendations.

You don't know what a freeride ski even is, and it's certainly not the simple metric of width that defines a freeride ski.

homie..... I work at a shop. now granted not really a metric to rate what I "know" but technically blizzard classifies the rustler 9 as a freeride ski. it's an all-mountain ski. going off what I know from 90% of ski companies they lose a lot of torsional stiffness once u pass 104 underfoot, basically making it a free ride ski because those are meant for deep snow and hard landings not ripping on ice.

there’s absolutely no metric dude. Terms like, “all-mountain ski,” “freeride ski,” are literally just marketing buzzwords. You can do anything you want with whatever ski you want, you don’t have to be bound by what that company classifies it as. I skied a black crows nocta that’s 122 underfoot as my only ski in high school, from pow to park to groomer laps. Therefore it was an, “all mountain ski,” even though it was designated a, “powder ski.” If you actually work at a shop and sell people shit based on these wack ass marketing terms that just shows a lack of technical knowledge imo.

108 is fine if that’s what you like, there’s no rules to this. My daily is 106 and before that it was 112 and I’m in New Hampshire. Had 0 issues holding an edge because I know how to ski. On super hard icy days maybe I lose some edge grip, but the only ski that’s gonna hold on days like that is some boring, one dimensional carver ski that’s 78 underfoot. I don’t like skis like that so I’m not gonna ski one. Definitely can confirm @iggyskier will come commit seppuku tho, I had Jeff 108s and they’re fire on the line. Still super balanced and held an awesome edge too.

Recommending 104 but saying 108 is too wide. 4mm difference... We talking 2.4 pieces of spaghetti wide or 3.2 grains of sand extra width.

Op you're fine. Go for it if that's the ski you want. The whole width debate is one for the ages, and some of us haven't looked at a ruler in ages apparently.

I ski 104’s all the time on the EC (New England) Picked up a pair if j110s and plan to ski them a lot here on the EC.

I mean, just leaning into what I think OP is looking for. A slightly skinnier recommended closer to center mount with decent rocker and maybe a little less stiff and playful than the Kartel. Obvs personal preference is king but the dude was looking for recommendations and in the conditions I assume the revolt might skip better. If he just wanted the Kartel he can go buy the Kartel. I think a 96 or 102 might be even better but wide skis are hella fun for sure. I ski a 123 on non powder days too lol
