tominiemenmaaAn angle grinder gets the job done in a minute if you know what youre doing. You can also fuck your skis in a second permanently if you don't.
I grind my skis perfectly round & smooth from tips, tails, and under the bindings.

BradFiAusNzCoCaThat’s horrifying lmao
tominiemenmaaI'm a welder by trade so it's the most natural tool for me :)
Paul.@DominatorJacques has a wonderful tutorial that will help you achieve the perfect detune. You have to watch the whole thing start to finish though or else you might miss some important steps

sarcI don't understand the use of a gummi stone in tuning. It was suggested to me as a way to deburr, so I get one and rub it on there and it doesn't seem to do a thing. Maybe it polishes?
Any one have a good use for this thing or should I throw it out?

bennwithtwonsJust slide rails for a couple days and your edges will be sufficiently detuned. You don’t need to remove any material that way, which will help increase the longevity of your edges. Then just keep the edge ‘clean’ with some of the previously mentioned tools and you’ll be in good shape.
animatorI think this depends on your definition of longevity. For park skiers, it’s making sure they don’t crack, in which case you’re wrong and detuning most definitely increases the longevity.
