@J_skis this is some really tacky shit. Ya'll really not bright enough to find a better way to sell skis? Not denying Jason is a pretty OG dude, but maybe ease up on the lame ass marketing. Using serious issues to advertise a giveaway is pretty fuckin stupid. Maybe I ain't right to judge ya company by the people who buy your skis, but the only dude I've ever met who had a pair of Js was some dickhead BYU-I kid who kept sexually harassing my coworker. Fuckin sort yourselves out.
SuspiciousFishThe numbers are pretty high. In 2017 there were 860,000 abortions in the USA.
Since we are on the stats topic I figured I'd drop this here for completion. 21.8% for abortion yikes, that's a big industry.
SuspiciousFishIf you are ok with abortion where do you draw the line? Can you kill a fetus 20 min before its born? After its born but still has the umbilical cord? 3 weeks before its born? 3 months before its born? That is why the Texas law makes sense IMO because it draws the line at a detectable heart beat.
Thats just my belief take it or leave it.
The line is at age of viability. What do I mean by viability? If a fetus was born, at which age in weeks of gestation would it need to be at to survive with NICU care at the best hospital in the world. The world record sits at 21w2d and that is considered a miracle. I've seen down to 22 weeks but that's with extreme morbidity and mortality and probably a year or more in the NICU if they ever leave at all. The general age of viability is 24 weeks but that slowly inches back as advancements happen. Will this ever be possible to be sooner? Idk because at that point you're probably gonna need to simulate the womb somehow and I'm sure that will come with all sorts of "playing God" opposition. A fetus delivered at 18 weeks, 20 weeks, etc will die or be delivered dead. Period.
Most states are on par with this but Texas is just trolling everyone on a national level. Makes a law but then says they aren't responsible for it so can't be sued by the feds lol omg.
Maybe take sex more seriously so you don’t get in these situations?
I’m a new uncle and although I don’t have a kid of my own, I’m star struck by the beauty of my nieces existence. I could not imagine being able to hear my own child’s human heart beat and not feeling an intense bond.
idk such casual hookup culture seems to be making young people more miserable in the long term anyways.

safarisamWhere did he say homophobic slurs? I literally didn't read the thread/never checked his user history to see whether or not he had been banned. THE THREAD, THE CONCEPT OF HIM ASKING PEOPLE TO KISS UP TO HIM FOR FREE SHIT THAT HE GOT FOR FREE IS FUNNY I never said he's funny?? I think we're both on way different and confused pages here?
"All you have to do to enter into this giveaway is write a kind comment on this post and you will entered to win."
all i said was a NICE comment. maybe if you actually read the thread, you wouldn't be spewing such ignorant, fake news bullshit, you floor licker. its people like you that skew news into some completely nonsensical garbage just to make your point sound credible

Come carve out the inside of my uterus b/c I’d rather deal with that then this.
DesertStixFor real who’s going skiing this weekend
I'd hit the a-basin opener, but instead seeing the blue angels go for a rip this sunday. Pretty stoked for that. Maybe I can get some weekday laps tho in that would be tight af
keagan.karstensI’m a pro choice republican and jskis needs to keep politics the fuck out of skiing. Jskis is the “fun” brand that’s known for being funny and always having a good time. This though, just doesn’t look good. I think we force politics into everythingggg nowadays and it’s honestly exhausting. Like skiing is an escape from stress and tough stuff. No need to bring that to the sport
Rewriting a slogan =/= JSkis hating women/against abortions
They’ve attempted to make amends with the ski community by showing solidarity with the pro-choice movement by donating $1000 to the PPGT. I think a great first step is allowing people to hold themselves accountable for making a mistake, especially one as minor as this.
People are also misreading the situation. No one gives a fuck if your pro life or pro choice, it’s about using a serious political issue in order to create a catchy slogan for some giveaway.
I think there is something to be said about them using the same exact saying last year, because us as a community didn’t hold them accountable.
Skiblade420Clearly a joke/truth. Sex seems to be so casual that people forget the main biological purpose of it, which comes with weight.
Speaking of biology, it's also almost like we have forgotten that humans aren't biologically monogamous so we continue to marry because Yahweh yet human nature is to procreate as much as possible.
-Last year, Jskis put out this same promotion, but it didnt get any heat because at the time, the big topic when it came to CHOICE was an election.
-This year they tried to do the same, but after what happened in Texas, everyone is NOT okay with the situation, and the whole thing became a bit inappropriate...
-People lashed out a bit, Jskis replied to the backlash with some defensiveness like 'wait wtf we ran this last year what the heck'
-Cody Townsend gave them a super good idea to throw in 1000$ towards PP, while also saying 'ehhh not a good look guys, lets not capitalize off of some suffering'
-JSkis realized all of this, owned their mistake, and changed their promotion and kicked in 1000$ towards PP like Cody suggested.
Look we are all human... they got a bit defensive when they were getting called out on it at first, and said some replies that were a bit unsavoury, and you know what... we have ALL done that because nobody wants to admit when they are wrong... however, they came to the right realization about it all and apologized. They made changes pretty fast here.
Some people will be too pissed off at them to buy their gear due to the whole thing, but thats just how things go sometimes. I feel they made the corrections they needed to, and apologized sincerely. I dont think they are actually bad guys here, but rather just flew a bit too close to the sun with a bad look at a time when people are very much on edge with anything related to this topic.
One all of this thing this did do though... is it definitely brought a lot of attention to a pretty creative promotion (despite it's original title) that is now going to send 1000$ to planned parenthood, and that's pretty cool.

this. We didnt hold them accountable last year, because it wasnt a big sticking portion of the news cycle, and something happened along the way (texas) that totally sensitized everyone to the situation...
Leaving my personal convictions out of here cause they're not helpful to this thread but man, the more I think about it, the crazier it seems to me that this campaign ever got out of a brainstorm phase. Making light of an issue that people on all sides have deeply rooted moral convictions about and is currently at the forefront of national discussion/tension was of course going to be a disaster. And the the PR response is to pick one side in an attempt to please, which doesn't really erase the damage that has already been caused, and totally alienates the other. Makes me think I should have applied to J/4frnt a couple years ago but thought I was under qualified.
The real issue with this thread and the J Skis “Pro Choice” marketing campaign is this- it fucking worked. Incredibly controversial, bad taste, and out of touch, but absolutely brilliant. The “Pro Choice” giveaway has created wave after wave of attention from skiers and non-skiers alike. How many followers did they gain since the original campaign launch? Sure they lost some, but regardless of how controversial this is, J Skis marketing got the attention, clicks/engagement, and likes/comments of tens of thousands of people. Complain all you want about what they did and how they leveraged a huge issue in the US and Texas, but the more you talk about it, the more people will go to their site, Instagram, and Facebook to learn more about what they did wrong, then redirect their attention to the skis (maybe even make or plan a purchase).
