@J_skis this is some really tacky shit. Ya'll really not bright enough to find a better way to sell skis? Not denying Jason is a pretty OG dude, but maybe ease up on the lame ass marketing. Using serious issues to advertise a giveaway is pretty fuckin stupid. Maybe I ain't right to judge ya company by the people who buy your skis, but the only dude I've ever met who had a pair of Js was some dickhead BYU-I kid who kept sexually harassing my coworker. Fuckin sort yourselves out.
Skibum978Where was the outrage when they ran the same exact giveaway, with the same exact name last year? It’s not like abortion hasn’t been a hot button issue for many years now or anything…
Did you make an account just to post this? JSkis burner confirmed hahaha. Give us some more cat graphics
HypeBeastJesus fucking christ when did NS become a bunch of PC pussies. It's a play on words. Are y'all REALLY that offended? Is anyone really truly offended by this? Or are we just jumping on them because "yay I get to be included in something by pointing out political incorrectness"?
Seriously bad judgment on the part of myself and my crew. We've since deleted the promotion and re-designed it as it should have from the beginning. Reality is, it was the identical campaign wording and imagery we used a year ago without a problem... but a lot has changed around this topic in the past year and we were dumb asses not taking this into consideration. Attached is the apology and this is the updated promotion: https://www.instagram.com/p/CVDZg_Jsr_u/

Nah, I’ve been lurking for a year or two, but decided to make an account today. As a loyal J customer for several years I felt compelled to put my 2 cents in. Was the joke badly timed? Probably. But still, complete overreaction from most people. But no, I don’t work for or am affiliated in any way with J other than I ride their skis. I do however work at a great family owned ski shop in Southern NH, so if you happen to be in New England and ever need your skis tuned, stop in 🍻🍻

It’s refreshing seeing an apology without excuses just 100% ownership. Good shit.
JLevHey you're right. We totally fucked up!

Thanks J. It's easy to say dumb shit (and I've sure said some stupid things), but it takes a lot to own up. Good on ya.

This isn’t enough. I’m gonna need a couple new sets of skis sent my way, just to deal with all the trauma and mental agony this careless mistake put me thru this morning

the only guy i knew that had j skis was also a dickhead.
I feel in general companies are best to stay outside of politics. especially j skis being a company that markets to portray the "its just skiing" philosophy it would be more fitting to their company to keep politics and skiing separate as they should be in my opinion.
What is this? You cannot convince me that they didn't know what they were doing with that play on words, especially when then mentioned Texas in the IG post.

not cool, J Skis & J Lev. Not cool. Little too heavy handed with the reply. The reply reminds me of the kid who decides if he was “just kidding” or not depending on your reaction.

foolmetwiceAlso sorry for the double post but I think this is actually making light of anti vaxxers which I don’t have a problem with. Unrelated but I think it’s hilarious how they’ve adopted all the pro choice lingo/ arguments but would never actually be pro choice when it comes to abortion.
I think we all need to accept that the only people that are really pro life are corrupt business moguls and politicians.

His reply was pretty shot. But the other troll giveway threads where the dude got banned twice for being homophobic was "hilarious". Ski giveaways are only in poor taste if they're real and offensive to womens rights?
Obviously this is apples to oranges but still interesting.
I don’t get why everyone is getting so worked up over it, they made a mistake and apologized for it, bunch of snowflakes just wanna use this to bitch and whine on the internet and it’s ridiculous
He jumped on a full on public apology very quickly. This just seems odd and what a lame response to a legitimate concern.

Yeah, it was. It's hilarious that he was bitterly shit on so fucking hard that he made others say something nice about him. This is apples to oranges, and you know it. A user isn't the same as a company with a much larger presence, though it doesn't make either okay.

I agree for two reasons. First of all if you run a political ad, people that agree will probably just shrug their shoulders and say, "cool" but people that disagree will get pissed and not buy your stuff. So you are basically risking about 30% of your customer base right off the bat.
The second reason is as a company you speak for your employees and if you run political ads that go against your employee's beliefs it can make them feel alienated or if its bad enough they will leave.
So basically you really wont win much and you have a lot to lose doing this.
foolmetwiceJ skis has always been pretty cringe imo. Wack marketing/graphics, design isn’t appealing, not a fan of the skiers they sponsor. Generally feel they are the jerrys of the indie brands. Trying to think of a comparable brand in another space… DC shoes maybe?
Who the fuck cares. I guarantee at some point in your life you laughed at a holocaust or racist joke, and I actually agree that they probs shouldn’t have said it but totally ripping JLev’s whole existence and his company is just retarded like whatever man sorry somebody who has a large following made a mistake once or twice in their life fucking cry about it pussy

Wow they really doubled down on their position. The funny thing is they apologized but really put the screws in on their stance on the subject. Its their choice for sure but its risky to overtly support abortion and possibly turn away customers who dont support it.
