Replying to Skiing on premounted skis

Hello NS, I am interested in remounting a pair of bindings I have one of my skis, will this deteriorate the ski's ability? or will it somehow create a chance for catastrophic collapse? I can assume that since the bindings I want to replace are different brands, that the drill pattern will be different, meaning that I would need to mount the new bindings in a forward or backward position. My skis are currently mounted at recommended so I don't know where I should move the mount to.
