RMU Rippah?

I’ve recommended them to many people, I love RMU skis, and for park I love this ski. It’s not catchy, has a long enough radius, available in a 185… I hate short skis, easy to butter, light as shit, got some pop, nice balance on swing and I think their skis are very well made and durable, my apostles and Rippah are from 2018 and my most used sticks, they also make great convo pieces, outside of Colorado they’re more unknown than a lot of companies, especially out East

ReturnToMonkeyWe all love Ethan Swadburg and Ben Smith, but I haven't seen anyone mention these skis. They website is pretty limited on info about them, but they are $500 which is pretty good considering how pricy RMU tends to be. Anyone here ride them?

have been looking at them for some time. they look really nice. have tried the apostle 106. solid fun and light. felt real chargey for the weight and the shift bindings they had mounted.

I’m assuming that was the old apostle and not the new 3.0? I have the wood version, skied the metal, went with the wood, and it can charge but it’s loose as fuck and I’ll say over 45mph it’s chattery as fuck.

can’t wait to try the new ltd 3.0, supposed to be more solid and just as easy/quick to release

I came into rmu recently, 2018, so idk if older models were more centered but newer ones are -7.5 which isn’t far back but it’s not centered. Hands down my favorite ski for all mountain/free ride, trees and moguls, even groomers, aside for park, the gnarliest of the gnar (to me) and 6+” of POW it’s my go to, never leave home without it.

What other park only skis have you skied and how do they compare?

I remember hearing horror stories ab the consistency (or lack there of) of their production quality. Even had a few customers bring in some skis with sidewalls pushed out, super edge high, stuff like that. Seems they fixed it though, just had a guy bring in an apostle 98 and 106 and both were Gucci.

2018 chronic vs 2019 185cm Rippah- the older chronic ,which is stiffer, less tapered than the new chronics-wouldn’t say park only but def park capable- compared to that years chronic it’s softer in the tips and tails, has more early rise but similar splay, it’s actually lighter even tho it’s longer and wider, the tips are less catchy and it’s actually more all mountain capable than the chronic, it’s def more damp and torsionally rigid but more butterable, holds a better edge too, requires slightly more input from the skier than the chronic, the rubber def makes it more dampness and edge hold.
The new chronics are more similar yet still not as butterable or supportive, nowhere near as good all mountain or carving, in any sorta pow the chronic will nosedive when the Rippah won’t, the Rippah will bend through Moguls better and rip trees

I haven’t owned any other park skis but I’ve skied them, not as frequently as a chronic and it’s not comparable to say a Magnus nor a revolt or nfx, or nightstick, the Rippah is on the opposite spectrum and way more playful and IMO , is not a park ski but a true all mountain ski that really mixes park/all mountain well, but you def need to de tune for rails, their edges are sharp as phuck.

Not sure but the new 2022 Rippah only goes to 182 and idk if they changed anything else compared to the 2019
