Hello all

in honor of daddy @-Dan i have decided to learn how to lip on blind 2 this season. I have slid a rail to the end precisely one time in my life so consider me to be completely shit. What are my logical steps?

Look at end of rail. Knees slightly bent. Embrace the rail, so to speak. Lips are fun. Basically lift front/inside foot up. Bring back foot around. You’ll probably make contact with back foot first and then very quickly after, front foot. Focus on getting over the rail and shifting weight from more heel biased to toe bias aka weight over toe. Set almost as soon as you get weight over toe and are comfortable. Work on back 2s first and once you get those down, do the lip back 2. The hardest back is just the adjustment “over” the rail so to speak

You can also pop harder on toe edge and land on toe and just pop around while straddling the closest side of the rail. A little tougher balancing but quicker motion

This some sick advice bro. I’m not trying to do any crazy shit, if I can lip on b2 a tube by the end of the season I’ll be hyped. I was thinking that I should get normal slides down super well, then practice back 2s then practice lips. No fucking idea how you guys do it lmao

Hit every rail every day. Or most rails you can. Keep sliding them, nothing fancy. Get confidence about sliding them, your weight etc.

Get some lips going. Lower to the takeoff rails ate less scary learning lips. Again do a bunch of these as well. When you feel fsirly dialed on the slide then worry about trying to set for a 2 out.

Also kind of easy to learn a switchup that way while lesrning the 2. Same if you were learning switchups. Ive tried them on rails that were too short and accidentally done a sloppy 2 out

Idk, getting comfy sliding raiks is the biggest thing. Just do it as much as you can.

After learning to slide rails consistently, learn how to lipslide. Then learn blind 2s (flat tube is probably most ideal for this). Then put them together lol. A smaller flat rail or tube is probably easiest for lip blind 2

Ya this is really good advice.

get more comfy sliding rails in general the break the trick down and practice each element on its own (lip on/back 2) once you’ve done each on their own a couple times, combine the two and stomp it!

also do some knee strengthening and balance training.

i use a 2L pop bottle full of water and an old skate deck for a cheap balance board setup. Really helps with knee strength and your core is engaged the whole time you’re on it.

OP I’m in similar boat. I don’t really have anyone to progress with in the park most of my friends board around here so you gotta push my progression this season.

I can slide a basic tube and flat rails for the most part but that’s it so we’re pretty much starting out similarly.

Step 3: Wake up from your dream and realize that you didn’t actually do a lip on blind 2

Step 4: Go to sleep should have been step 1

I can slide a basic tube and flat rails for the most part but that’s it so we’re pretty much starting out similarly.

I'm lucky if I can make it to the end of a flat wide rail. I haven't tried tubes yet I see though our park crew made some new features they said would go into the progression park. I'm definitely going to work at this .

Blind 2 is easier to do/learn from lip. You’re already applying pressure to catch your self on the rail in that direction.

I think lip on b2 on a tube is actually easier than regular on b2. Think it's easier to just carry the momentum of that first 90.

2) make it to the end of the rail

3) do a 360

4) wait, too much

5) go back 90 degrees

6) land lip on blind 270

7) ride out like a baller
