How do you guys scrape your skis?

I just moved into a new rental and have a nice spot to wax my skis, but don’t know how to scrape it. Gf doesn’t want me doing it inside cause I made a mess last year, can I just do it outside? Our landlord has some work horses outside made of wood that I think I could use, am I fine to just brush it off the side?

You mean just brush it off on to the ground? Not only will that look terrible but it's not exactly good for the ground.

Ideally you'd have a hard floor that you can sweep/vacuum it up from, or at least put a tarp down (that's what world cup techs do in hotels and stuff).

The floor underneath my tuning table in my basement is slicker than a greased up hickey rink from all the dropped wax shavings

I asked my parents for an old rug that they don't want anymore and I put it under my tuning bench. Wax on a concrete floor becomes a great way to fall super hard

usually in the ski hill parking lot because I forgot to the night before and I do a really half-assed job

Yeah the whole place is carpet besides the kitchen which I already tried to pass by. Probably going for the tarp idea

I use a refrigerator box sized piece of cardboard. Cleaning up takes almost as long as the rest of the process, like painting but it smells better.
