Candide 2.0 vs Prodigy 2.0

Id go towards prodigy . I have a pair of CT and love them but I used them for more all mountain so dont really take them in the park that often. They do work fairly good there but Id go for something a little more playful if I were you. I haven’t tried the prodigy’s but i think they’re more suited for it

Per faction the CT is more freestyle oriented than the Prodigy series. CT has a more forward mount point, more symmetrical flex and more symmetrical side cut. The new prodigy has a really set back camber and side cut profile and less of a true twin than it used to. I’ve had both the CT 2.0 and the prodigy 2.0 and the CT performs a lot better in more “freestyle” applications than the prodigy does.

Do you have any experience with the CT 1.0? Like is it the same flex? since I'm newer in the park it might be in my best interest to go with something a little more narrow in the waist

I have the old 1.0 which was soft and fun as fuck. After they beefed it up it was way too stiff for my liking. I have yet to ski the 2022 ski but I will report once I ride it, it is less beefy now and should be more snappy and energetic. The old one was a butter machine but also still super stable on big jumps and stuff, probably my favorite ski I’ve ever skied.

I have had a bunch of ct 2.0. It has a stiffer tip and tail than the prodigy. It charges through uneven snow better and is more stable. The prodigy has more flex, and the ct has more pop. The Ct is a more aggressive ski. The prodigy 2.0 is thinner and a little lighter. Faction says the prodigy is meant to be a ski to progress with, what ever that means. I just bought the prodigy 3.0 for this year.

As everyone has mentioned, the CT line gets much lighter for 2022 but the shape is still the same for the 2.0 and 3.0. Should be more playful than the 2021 but not as soft flexing as they used to be if I had to guess. The Candide line has less taper still and a more even flex tip to tail vs the solid underfoot but softer flexing tip/tail of the Prodigy line.

CT 1.0 and Prodigy 1.0 both more directional now with the same dimensions but again more taper on the Prodigy and more forgiving tip/tail flex. The Prodigy 2.0 and up don’t change for 2022, so deals to be had on the 2021 Prodigy 2.0 if you like that top sheet better($449 CAN at SkiOutlet.ca for the 189 2021 Prodigy 2.0)

I’d lean towards the Prodigy 2.0 for the OP use as it’s going to be more forgiving for a learning park skier.
