Avalanche airbags

Hey all! do you guys have any recommendations regarding avalanche airbags (electric or gas technology)? personally I would prefer an electric airbag since I just have to care about the battery and I can trigger more often for training purposes and stuff. looking for a light bakpack of about 30l size. thank you!

Ortovox free rider , it’s a gas bag but it’s what I ha e, comfortable and has back protection. My friends all have bca. Seems like you already know the drawbacks gas vs electric, what’s most important is familiarity with your gear, they both work so get what you want. The vest bags seem to be less prone to coming off in a fall.

If you plan to travel via planes the canister (gas) seems like it can be a pain. I believe you need to empathize the canister and refill once you get to where you are going…

I don't have first-hand experience but I've always been very interested in the Scoot Patrol E1 (comes in 22, 30 and 40L), unfortunately airbags don't replace reading the forecast and CAIC report every morning

Lotta good advice in here OP, not gonna assume u don’t have avy training/knowledge, but that’s what keeps you out of avalanches, so get it if u don’t, and don’t let the airbag give you false sense of security, if you wouldn’t do it without the bag, probably shouldn’t with it, better to walk away and come back when the conditions are right than risk your life, friends lives and rescuers, g luck have fun and stay safe.

I'd recommend checking out the BCA Float line. I have a Float 32 and super happy with it.
