Vibes as I can relate to this. I slid some backyard snow a wee bit and hiked once here in Scotland last season but ready to slide some real snow.

I have 2 little kids and live in Colorado Springs so skiing is at least a few hours away. I have not skied in about 3 years. I can usually shrug it off but fall gets pretty tough as its usually the time I build up the stoke.

Too young to ski? You got no one to watch the kids for a day? Could always do a day trip; I've driven 5 hrs each way for day trips before lol.

I left the military

Made a bunch of money off crypto (going to be releasing my own project soon)

I now live in Australia working for a mining company, 100k a year (If anyone is an Aus I can hook you up, pm me)

Now that I am a civilian I don't need to be sane anymore. Going to take 10 tabs of acid in a hotel room in a few weekends.

But good god, I just want to go skiing! I tell you when this covid shit is over I am going to ski bum for like 5 years straight.

Lol, younger naive me was such a retard. Didn't know how lucky I was to be able to have access to such an opportunity.

Now that I look back, Japan was one of the most incredible trips I have ever been on!

Respect for being dad first but how the hell…. I got 3, plus 30 some employees which are basically children and I ski a bit. Living there and not skiing has gotta be torture

Its been rough. We were actually going to take the kids up last year and stay at the hotel at Monarch but with the lodge closed it made it logistically not work due to COVID. Hopefully I can head up a few times this year, its about 2.5 hr drive each way to Monarch or A Basin which makes for a long day.

You gotta get out and introduce them to skiing, that will be the greatest gift you can give them.

Hopefully I can this year. We were going to last year but due to COVID the lodge was closed so I couldnt warm them up without piling everyone back in the car. Hopefully the logistics are better this year.

Do what ya gotta man, remember, warming in the car with dad will be a memory! I know for young young ones it’s not ideal, but you’ll favor having taken them! We were lucky we stayed off mountain last year at all resorts and did our best to mask etc, everything went very well.
Good luck this year! I’ll be at a basin most of the time, touring Loveland or just be boppin around the Rockies. It’s a 25hr drive from here but only 8 to big sky and 5ish to wyoming so I’m going nuts this year, Looking to take my 11 year old all over even tho he’s a circle and square skier, take him to some non avy low angle bc and build some jumps, make a fire and some dogs, teach him about tree wellls and hopefully get someone to expand my limited knowledge and teach me.

I don't know why this is such a big deal.

Every person I have talked to is "scared" to take more than 3 tabs.

I don't know why.

If you are familiar with vipassanalisation and the concepts of nothingness, you don't even have good trips OR bad trips.
