The vibration dampening qualities of VDS are super overblown in a lot of ski companies literature.

Yeah I agree but I’ve also never spent more than a couple days on a ski with VDS so I’m interested to see how it goes

VDS does dampen some vibrations but it’s real purpose on the outer ridge of skis like Sego and JSkis use is to act as a bonding agent between the metal edges and fibreglass. Creates a stronger bond and prevents delamination.

VDS sheets added tip/tail/underfoot can definitely make a difference in dampening and making the ski quiet on hard snow. Carbon Fibre tips are noisy in comparison. The BH 106 and 114 have added VDS strips around a carbon layer above the core while the 96 just uses VDS along the edges.

@animator thoughts on the flex?

Picked up a pair myself at the end of last season as they had a blemish pair I couldn't pass on. Flex seems suspiciously soft for how stable Blister and others are saying (though not a noodle). You planning on running these as your daily, or more of a mess around day ski?

This is a daily for me w an ON3P Crushin Cans as my park ski. They definitely aren’t noodles (at least to me) but they aren’t super stiff either. I suspect they will be a nice blend of playful and stable. What size did you get? The 96 is softer than the others

Got the 106 in 187 length. Planning on running it as my daily as well, which I think will work fine at my local where there's not a ton of vert. I do make a trip up to Whistler each season though so that's where my concern is, where I can open things up more.
