HypeBeastLmao I actually don't care about this, especially how ridiculous the mask rules were at some resorts and it's not like people were following them anyway. At this point there's 3 groups that determine your risk: vaccinated, unvaccinated, and immunocompromised who's vaccines didn't work (this isn't all immunocompromised people either). That last group shouldn't be in these situations so it's cool. Pfizer should be approved down to 5yo by December sometime so that should help this whole kid covid surge issue. If you're willingly unvaccinated and get covid, you're an idiot and deserve whatever happens.

junior1derfulAs an employee I hated enforcing the ridiculous mask rules last season. Nobody followed them because they were so stupid, and I felt like an idiot trying to tell someone to wear a mask when theres 3 people in the lift line. I'm all for masks indoors though, especially in small buildings with awful ventilation, but the outdoor mask rules make absolutely no sense to me. I know for the resort I work at not a single person got covid all season, guests or employees, but I seriously doubt it was because we had to enforce people wearing masks in the lift line.

Bear mountain had hundreds of people in line on a regular basis. About 2/3 not wearing masks and in close proximity. My friends and I were up there constantly and never caught covid or heard of any distant friends catching it soon after a day on hill.

Believe me when I say Bear mountain has a lot of grimy people that would definitely show up to the hill with covid

junior1derfulI'm a covid believer too. I support the science behind wearing masks, and if the government makes rules based on that science then I'm all for it. Even if I think that the outdoor mask policy is dumb I understand that there is still a small chance the virus can spread and infect others outdoors.

I'm more so just annoyed at having to enforce these rules rather than being opposed to them. I'm really hoping this season goes smoother with the proof of vaccination cards. It will allow resorts to ease restrictions while also lowering the chances of the virus spreading. Vaccinated people recover faster from covid, which means a lower timeframe in which they can spread the virus.

Unfortunately, there will like be a good number of tourists who aren't vax'd but will try to abide by the vax'd rules, hence why places like vail are requiring a mask indoors.

The USA tried mask only for non-vax'd, but the people who refused to get vax'd are the same people who won't wear a mask.

skiindanaI am vaccinated but for a number of reasons completely against having to show I'm vaccinated to do basic ass shit like eat food. I would never make a scene or make life difficult for anyone, but I have absolutely no interest in normalizing that weird shit.

If asked I would simply say no thanks - hasn't happened yet. I get why Vail would do it. The people I know who still care about COVID are all vaccinated highly educated rich people. These guys will never get over COVID and I'm sure they spend stupid money on vacations - Vail or otherwise.

Just mentioning my view since you suggest only the unvaccinated would be uncool with showing their vac status all the time.

For example though, I work with someone who tests themselves every week before their 'in-office week'. They quarantine themselves in their apartment during that week and test again before going home to their parents. Fully vaccinated person. Fully vaccinated parents.

The irony is they're very overweight and unhealthy...

I enjoy life, I’m going to try to support places that are cool with people existing without an app. Given the past year, what has happened in places like Australia, it has become obvious this stuff will go as far as we let them take it.
