Sadly we just experienced the Caldor fire here in tahoe and it ripped through my little sierra at tahoe. have to wait another 20 days to find out if they're able to open this year. As of now some of the lifts experienced much warping at the heat of the fire and they lost one building that housed 2 brand new snow cats. Very sad to see the terrain I grew up in go up in flames. If they are not able to open this year im looking at going to diamond peak and squaw(now palisades) to avoid vail. Honestly was super lucky that the fire didn't hit my neighborhood and we lost no homes in the southlake/meyers area. I toured the burn area with my dad who works for cal fire and was decently surprised at how much was saved. https://www.instagram.com/p/CTPouliFAaX/https://www.instagram.com/p/CTSdYIzpzVz/
