asparagusThe whole point is to not use emergency airlift resources so is there a chance that those will have to be used? If not and the trail you’re climbing looks easy to the average person then I think you’ll get a pass.
steezyclezyThat looks like Whakapapa so depends if you’ll be allowed up Bruce Road. Down in here in Wanaka all the access roads are closed to the public. There’s also some essential workers up at Whakapapa I think so you may get in the shit if they see you, or they might not care. Cops may be keeping an eye out too.
I agree these guidelines are stupid because doing pretty much anything “may expose you to danger”. The government introduced them last year to not stretch the emergency services because of the pandemic, but we know they’re not busy because there’s no COVID outside of Auckland or Welly. Basically sums up this government’s approach to risk.
