The Olympic tokyo 2020 skateboarding

First congratulations to the Olympic 2020 Tokyo skateboard gold medalists

Yuto Horigome and Momiji Nishiya

While I was watching I realized that the commentators knew pretty much nothing about skateboarding and one of them even a Tre flip a hardflip and I feel like for the Olympics they could've done better at least by hiring someone well informed about skateboarding. For an organization as big as the Olympics it was disappointing. Imagine working incredibly hard just to have your tricks called the wrong thing and this also negatively impacts the people that don't know much about skateboarding too they could look at a tre flip then think "oh i know this trick one of the Olympic commentators said this was a hardflip" then calling it the wrong term.

this is my thought but what did you guys think about the whole event, also I'm glad skateboarding is now an Olympic sport.

I feel like nyjah grew out of his ability like sheckler did.

obv nyjah is alot better than sheckler, but watching nyjahs videos he seems like hes always on a knife edge with his tricks. Barely landing them and if he doesnt then wiping out hard.

I dont have any dislike towards nyjah but i think he is overrated.

yuto horigome on the other hand is on the luan oliveira level imo. Japanese people seem to take pretty awesomely to coordination critical sports. The yasutoku brothers have been killing everybody in inline for like 15 yrs.

Girls scoring was a shit show. Judges sucked comparing everything to the men. No way a kick flip front board on a 12stair is just under a 4!! Equality and all is chill but that’s just stupid, scoring them with the men’s standards or comparing it to the men. That would make me feel so shitty, throwing down a gnarly ass trick like that just to get barely a 4

I think letits bufon is stuck up an overrated.



Some girls are actually good. Bufon is kind of like the sheckler of womens skateboarding.

Yea not really the Olympics fault for shitty commentators, more of the broadcasting networks deal. But yea NBC defiantly screwed that one for the American broadcast.

most fucked thing is tony hawk was at the olympics, and so was gus who i know can skate a lil bit. like why not have them commentate if your just gonna have some old dude call a hardflip a back tre
