BrennantsullivanJust moved to Salt Lake City, was wondering where I should get a pass to. There’s obviously park city but i was wondering if there are any other mountains here with great skiing. If you live or ski here lmk what mountain you ride at and if you like it.

skierman"I JUST MOVED TO SLC AND WHILE I SAW THERE ARE 7 RESORTS TO CHOOSE FROM, I DON'T KNOW ANY OF THEM! UGH CAN ANYONE SUGGEST A RESORT AND LMK WHERE TO FIND HOUSING!?! ITS SOOOOOOO EXPENSIVE!!!"

Young_pattyDepends on what part of SLC you’re living at,
personally I think Mammoth mountain would be your best bet- they have a nice park, good terrain and IMO some of the best skiing near SLC
SchoessHey man, I am moving to SLC in a few weeks as well. Lots of homies I talked to said Solitude is extremely fun. Personally Brighton is the most attractive option for me because tubes, great terrain and night skiing on the weekdays. I personally bought an Epic and Icon plus full Brighton pass.

MastePoleWhackerDamn you bought some nice passes. You're right, Solitude is fun as shit, its steep with cool terrain. Brightons parks are dope as well.
Personally i probably would have gone Alta/Bird over Epic and Brighton but thats just personal preference, and i just have an Ikon. Especially since youre into the tubes epic and brighton is gonna be awesome

BigPurpleSkiSuitAlright OP, here's the rub:
Brighton: Great Park, Great Mountain. For being closer than PC, it's amazing with it's park. Vibes at Brighton are the best in Utah, lots of piff and beer. Not owned by Alterra or Epic, true 'locals' mountain. You do have to deal with getting up Big Cottownood
Solitude: Used to be the gem of the Wasatch since so few people went there, but that changed when they got bought out by Alterra and are now ravaged with Ikon Passholders. Still a cool mountain, and if you get an Ikon, this will be your home base.
Snowbird: Best Terrain in Utah, can go as big as you want, not owned by Ikon or Alterra, but definitely a big corporate place. Smallest locals scene in the Wasatch, but some of the nicest people I know love skiing there (this is my home spot now.) You will not run out of terrain and it is amazing if you know where to go. Also, their season lasts about a month-2 months longer than everyone else except Woodward if it's a good snow year.
Alta: OOOLTA BABY! It's also where all the kids go after their knees get tired of skiing park. 2nd best terrain to Snowbird, but way more chill with what you can do in terms of building booters and things. As a result, it has a pretty great crew of people who can really throw down. Vibes are good here, only thing is no Snowboarders.
The 4 resorts above in the Wasatch all get the best Snow.
PC: Prepare to be outskied by 50 13 year olds. Best Park in Utah hands down still to this day. Yeah it's run by vail, but whatever. I don't ski park so I won't comment on that.
Deer Valley: Just go there and see, great groomers, but no park, and not the best terrain IMO.
Woodward: Very underrated for night skiing from what I gather if you enjoy park.
