jompcockPost pics of setup. What materials do you use for artificial snow? My setup is mSnow with a turf takeoff and landing, but landscaping barrier fencing (usually orange) laid over turf on the drop in is cheaper. Try to have a lip that smoothely ramps up. A flat in run that kicks you up on to the rail can kill a lot of speed.
sullivanobrien_it's not a smooth transition from slope to lip at all but here:

jompcockHonestly that's not bad. I'd try moving the lip up by a few feet. Maybe try with the lip starting right after the white plastic? Another thing that's helped me is to do a light wax with cold wax and don't scrape. Put soapy water on parts you feel really slow you down and stomp around in the suds with skis on.
BiffbarfI'd try to get rid of the lip or lower it maybe you're losing a ton of speed there? I bet if you prop your phone up and get a clip you can see exactly where you're hanging up
BiffbarfI just looked at your other thread and I'd be willing to bet the long flat transition is slowing you down a ton. Bring the rail up the hill a bit that transition is huge
270on420outDrop in needs to be steeper and the transition has to be shorter. Another trick that I found works better than using lattice is cutting pvc pipes in half and screwing them down underneath your horizontal astroturf strips on the drop in. Instead of a flat surface the pipes give you a nice round surface to slide down and it really makes you go a lot faster.

sullivanobrien_i cant bring it up the hill it wouldn't be flat anymore. it's not a long flat transition it's down hill then flat for 6 inches and then the lip is there and then it's rail
sullivanobrien_if i put the lip closer to the drop in it'll be on the hill and i can't go up to far bc then the rail can't be flat. i can try to have the rail start where the lip does right now and have the lip up farther but then it's gonna be weird bc the lip won't be a lip it'll be like flat basically unless i make it shorter.
sullivanobrien_can you show me that somehow i'm not great at understanding things via words
jompcockI'd raise the end of the rail a bit. That way it can still be somewhat flat and you'll have more height for spins out. I started out with my rails at a similar height and found my edges catching when setting spins out > 270. A flatter lip is actually pretty good as long as it gives you enough height to get on the rail. Look at Birk Ruuds setup on his insta if you wanna see what I'd do if I had the money. Smooth transition lets you have less of a flat section without it being sketchy, less of a flat section makes getting speed easier.

270on420outPull up your astroturf. Take a piece of 2’ diameter pvc pipe. Cut it in half into a half circle. Screw the pipe down on your drop in horizontally so that the round part is facing the sky. Repeat every 12 inches (or however far apart your individual boards are) down the drop in. Then tack the astroturf back down on top of the pipes.
vishnusidelipperunimportant but thats sebastians shcjerves setup not birk ruuds, looking at sebastians youtube has a video about how he made it
