I'm pretty sure most well-known skiers all went to some sort of ski academy or were funded by their parents at some point. It sucks that skiing is such a "pay to play" sport but I think we gotta hate the game and not the player. Pdog makes sick edits that are easily recognizable as being his own style. Seems unfair to single him out. Personally I think he seems like a nice dude and I always enjoy watching his edits

weastcoastNot shitting on Pierre whatsoever here but I think a filmer who doesn’t get enough recognition is @Schoess . Mans has made arguably the one of the best edit series in skiing. Heavily responsible for the huge recognition the Midwest scene in the past couple years, especially Trollhaugen itself. And also, just by watching his edits, I’m confident that he’s one of the best at filming in the game, especially with fisheye shots.

not trying to call anyone out here but there are some people that don’t properly film fisheye shots and still get their name blown up. I guess there’s “no right or wrong way” to film, but there kinda is for fisheye shots. You have to utilize the whole frame IMO, especially for shots where you’re posted up by a feature. That’s something Nick does extremely well, as well as other established names such as Emmett Davis, Sanch n Oliver Hoblitzelle, Owen Dahlberg, Tristian Steen, Aaron husak, and much more. Being picky here but filming is all about how well you display your technique and framing of fisheye shots as well as long lens shots, and these names are guys who do that extremely well.

Jemsschoess is the only filmer i can name who doesn’t use old prosumers, or maybe cause he films every good skier from WI and MN

rojo.grandeThere’s a reason he gets so much recognition. As a filler shooting anyone and everyone (from local carinthia kids to Phil casabon) P is one of the most reserved and creative homies out. Regardless of where ur from or ur background in skiing he makes you feel like a homie the second you meet him. There’s a direct correlation between level of zoot and quality of your shot. Don’t read too much into it. The more you do the shittier your clip will be

dvx100filming fish is a art, playing with the little things (angle & vig) goes a long way to improve your shots. you can easily keep someone in frame, but can look terrible with the less you do.
