If a woman transitions to a man, should it be required to sign up for the draft?

We haven't drafted people since Vietnam. Who the fuck cares? I'm much more worried about rich people dodging the draft than trannys. Thanks to the military-industrial complex and our enormous standing army, our country has an endless supply of poor people to fight wars for the rich.

Yeah, we're required to sign up for something that's meaningless. So to answer your question more directly. No, trans men shouldn't have to sign up for the draft (along with everyone else!) because it's a waste of time and resources. Signing up for a draft doesn't matter when your country spends almost a trillion dollars a year on the military. You could also make an argument that trans men don't have a body composition that's ideal for fighting and that they have mental health issues meaning that they are unfit to serve. There are plenty of trans service members though and all of them are braver than your stupid-question-asking ass.

FYI in the US, we commonly refer to military conscription as "getting drafted" and registering for selective service as "signing up for the draft"

With women allowed in combat roles now I have to imagine this is gonna happen regardless in the near future requiring them to sign up. Otherwise it's discriminatory against males to an incredibly worse extent than title IX ever was.

If China started attempting to invade Taiwan, for example... the amount of remote military hardware the USA has today already removes the need for a mass mobilization and training of troops in such an extreme event...

What youre talking about are nuclear powers. There is no reason to institute a draft to start a conventional war against an enemy that will just ragequit and release their nuclear weapons. If anything, mobilizing will only lead to your enemies mobilization and therefore more weapons proliferation...

The USA is geographically advantaged as hell, and doesnt need to have a large standing army, much less a draft to feed it. It is surrounded by oceans, allies, and developing nations. On top of that, it has hemmed in all of asia with its allies in Europe, and in the Far East with Korea, Japan, Rep of China/Taiwan, the Philippines, and Australia/NZ forming a giant wall of allies hemming in Mainland Asia from the rest of the pacific.

You can literally walk across the border from Russia to China to India to Pakistan... Russia has Conscription, and China, India and Pakistan have large enough population pools that they have no issue reliably acquiring volunteers. They all have large standing armies and comparatively weak navies because of their geographic situations.

Iran is hemmed in by an embargo and American allies - specifically Saudi Arabia. the USA would only need to institute a draft if it intended on invading Iran - which it has no need to do, nor does it have the public support required to do it. North Korea has one friend, and that friend is only there because China wants to have a buffer zone between it and an American ally.

That is one of the reasons why America has such a large and powerful navy and such a comparatively small Army to other nations... America Britain and France basically can do whatever they want in the Pacific, Atlantic, and Indian oceans as well as in the Mediterranean. The Russians have a presence in the Arctic, but they are easily countered there. India and Pakistan are too focused on their own border to worry about serious navies, and China, while they have some naval potential, are disadvantaged by shallow waters - so their SSNs - the only real countermeasure against superior American surface vessels are easily detectable. Their focus right now is to create a bunch of islands so they can claim the south China Sea and control the trade through there.

To put it in game-terms: the way that America has their Risk Board set up, they can just keep collecting on North and South America along with Australia while nobody else controls a whole continent, and nobody has the dice luck to penetrate. America keeps just stacking 9 additional armies during every reinforcement and doesnt even need to place them in north america.

The only way the American population could possibly get on board with instituting a draft is if one of its neighbours became strong enough to pose a conventional military threat... or if some absolutely massive and threatening destabilization was going down in say, Europe. I just don't see that happening anytime soon
